Usagi's voice in the Portuguese one sounded cute at first, but it quickly started to grate on my nerves and ears. I like the fact that they kept the commercial breakers and so many of those little scenes that were cut out of the North American version, though.

What about Luna's, Pluto's and Saturn's voices? Those three were the worst.

There's this person who's posting subbed German episodes on youtube... it makes me wish that we'd based our dub off of the German version. XP Since some countries base dubs of their anime off of ours (poor souls)... I wish it were the other way around. It's just so exquisite...

I'm the complete opposite, when it comes to the dubs. Granted, dus, to many, may sound horrible. In my honest opinion, they sound better in English. I really can't stand watching Sailor Moon in Japanese, much less anything else. Sure, there are subtitles, but that doesn't help me much. I much rather hear them actually speaking English, for me to enjoy the actual episode(s). I may get ranted on here, but I think the dubs are much better. But then again, it's because I want to hear my own language being spoke.

Ok, ok, let me say first that I DESPISE both DiC and that other English dub (I forget and I'm too lazy to look it up). I hate what they did to the story, to the characters, to America's opinion of Sailor Moon and anime in general...
...but then I listen to fandubs and oh, it could have been so much worse...

I don't like English dubs because they always screw up something and the voices are horrible!

I personally think some of you are acting very stupid and childish about the dub voices."Wanting to make me throw up"? Isn't that what spiteful 3-year-olds say about things? After seeing this thread,I've lost what little respect I had left for dub-bashers.

Well, it's not just the voices (although they do grate on my nerves. A lot.), I dislike the dub more for how much they changed the story.
(PS: It's not a very good idea to call people stupid and childish because they dislike the dub, and it does make me feel insulted. I understand how you feel, but other people have their own opinions, and that's how they feel.)

It's not only the changing of the story, it's also the extremely cheesy dialogue. The slang DiC and Cloverway used has not aged well. I can actually tolerate most of the voices in the DiC dub.
Even though I don't really like either of the dubs, I do respect the work DiC put into theirs. Production-wise, they did a pretty good job, even if the end result wasn't what we all wanted. I like the music they used and the effects were nice, even if they too look silly and dated. So even if I don't like it, I've gotta give them credit for trying.

To be honest, if I watched Sailor Moon for the first time, in Japanese, then I would probably never fell in love with it. So, I actually have a lot to thank for the dub. Otherwise, I may not be here. lol
