but nobody actually died except for Saturn. If I may point out (sorry) Pluto died to. Ah, good call. *facepalm* I always forget about poor Pluto.

I chose Sailor Stars because of the amount of death and destruction that occured. In S the whole world was silenced, but nobody actually died except for Saturn. In Stars, almost everyone ended up dying, PLUS Galaxia had the whole world (or at least Tokyo) under attack. It was a pretty gripping ending, especially with the Sailor Wars and the amount of destruction Galaxia caused before heading to Earth. And episode 200 made me cry like a baby the first time I saw it. The only two episodes of Sailor Moon that have made me full-out sob are episode 88 (because it hits close to home personally) and episode 200.

Sailor Moon is my ultimate favorite, followed by Venus. I identify most with Usagi's personality and she's just always been the one that grabbed my attention.
Even if she was only around for a short number of pages in the manga only, I also love Parallel Sailor Moon. What can I say, I love bit characters!

I was in sixth grade, so I was about ten or eleven. It was 1999 and S/SuperS hadn't even been dubbed yet! We had just got Cartoon Network for the first time, so I came home and watched Toonami every day and fell in love with Sailor Moon and Dragonball Z. I quickly found out about the original through RPing on AOL and badgered my aunt to buy me the VHS fansubs of Sailor Stars for my birthday that year, then I got the dubbed VHSes of the movies.
My friends grew out of Sailor Moon quickly, so I stole their toys. I still have them -- I stole the weird hybrid of the Prism/Crystal locket released in North America. I didn't get many other toys because they were starting to fade out by the time I learned about them. Sob!
It's almost ten years later and I'm STILL in love with Sailor Moon. For someone who has obsession cycles like I do, that's pretty good!

One can only imagine how it would have turned out had the SM dub came out at the time of the movie "Mean Girls"..... Instead of Serena saying "totally wicked," we would've had "so fetch." All I can say is thank goodness for small favors.

It's not only the changing of the story, it's also the extremely cheesy dialogue. The slang DiC and Cloverway used has not aged well. I can actually tolerate most of the voices in the DiC dub.
Even though I don't really like either of the dubs, I do respect the work DiC put into theirs. Production-wise, they did a pretty good job, even if the end result wasn't what we all wanted. I like the music they used and the effects were nice, even if they too look silly and dated. So even if I don't like it, I've gotta give them credit for trying.

Rainbow Moon Heart Ache, Venus Love and Beauty Shock, Burning Mandala, Silver Moon Crystal Power Kiss, and Venus Love-Me Chain.
I really wish Rolling Heart Vibration had appeared in the anime, because that's my favorite Venus attack and it would've looked so cool animated. (I know it appeared in PGSM and one of the video games, but it's not the same.)

I love the second and third parts of "Sailor Senshi Reunion" from the second disc of the Memorial Music Box, especially the pre-battle music. It's usually the music used when the Sailor Senshi are preparing for a fight.

Rainbow Moon Heart Ache is probably my favorite. It sounds silly, but she looks better spinning around like that in the Super Sailor Moon outfit! I really liked the rainbow effect towards the end -- it would've been neat if the hearts were rainbowy too. I also liked the ending pose better than Moon Spiral Heart Attacks.
For best sequence, I'd have to say Moon Gorgeous Meditation.

So... Haruka's motorcycle/car racing and cross-dressing didn't make her seem butch? Umino stalking Usagi and carrying notes and pictures on just about everyone isn't nerdy (or creepy, rather)?
I can clearly see distinct personalities in them. Usagi is goofy, yet kind-hearted. Minako has high ambitions and likes to chase boys. Rei is passionate with a short temper. A lot of those personalities remained in the dub, they were just... kind of tweaked a bit. Like someone said earlier in the thread, I see Serena and Usagi as two different people, along with Raye and Rei. Although they had the same characteristics, some of the personalities were changed too much to be the same character.

Cool, I'd be willing to contribute some of my AMVs and videos if you'd like. I wouldn't mind helping out with any fandom shows you come up with.

I have an LJ that I update all the time. I always compulsively check my friends list for new entries and browse communities when I'm bored. LJ's such a great time-waster! lunarkitten.livejournal.com/

There's a category for my site blocker: Hobbies.*crickets* Why, how DARE you have hobbies! The site blocker does not approve of your outside interests! My old high school blocked art sites, of all things. The things some blockers find unacceptable is really odd. After I graduated, I introduced some of my friends who were still in high school to proxies and watched the fun unfold.

What about those creepy rubber masks people in Japan use to cosplay anime characters, animegao? That's really all I can imagine when I think of someone getting surgery to look like an anime character.
