I'm not surprised how no-one has voted Pluto and Saturn's death in Stars. It was too quick, like the animators just wanted to get it over and done with as soon as possible. Also, why did Pluto and Saturn just let Uranus and Neptune take their star seeds?

^ That's exactly the point. The Pluto-Saturn death scene was too quick for the sadness to sink in... >_>000
I think though that Pluto and Saturn, being so attuned to Uranus and Neptune's train(s) of thought, allowed them to take their Star Seeds because they knew somehow that it was all part of the flawed game that the couple were playing.

^ Yeah, they'd all readily give up their lives for humankind. It's beyond brave.

I didn't want to make a new thread for this, but which death of a specific senshi at a particular time did you think was the saddest and why?
If I were to choose, it would be Neptune's in S. Like who honestly wouldn't be touched by that moment? After she was shot by the red blocks, Neptune didn't scream or anything when she was shot by Eudial's gun (she probably had no strength left, seriously). I think everyone has given enough details about it lol.
However, it was also a very close tie with Mercury and Venus in the first series for me. Mercury was pretty much left alone to die ("Yes Sailor Moon, of course I will die.") with no offensive attacks at the time, and getting fried in the heat wouldn't have been pleasant at all. The others weren't there to help her.
A similar case with Venus, who was dragged deep underground (I would have been VERY surprised if the other two jumped in to rescue her) and couldn't help (unless Mars decided to burn the vines when Venus was held high up in the air while the DD girls mocked them). Instead, Mars took the chance to drag Moon away and escape. In the end, Venus died in one of the most uncomfortable poses. I guess it's sadder watching the original Japanese version now since the American dub filtered it out.

I think that the death's in stars are way sadder than the other ones. I also think Neptune Uranus death in s was sad but they were only dead for like 5 minutes or somthing.

For me, it would be the interaction between Mars and Moon during the inner's death in Stars. It's just so dramatic and heart wrenching. ;__; Next, I'd say Uranus and Neptune's death, both times. Their bg music is so intense and it gets to me every time. But what I found to be almost the most dramatic, even more than Rei and Usagi, was the short catch up clip at the start of episode 198 I believe, where Uranus and Neptune's death was replayed, but with the more intense bg music, and Usagi narrated for a bit and ended with "more of my precious friends have disappeared....where is our light of hope". or something along those lines. That got to me.

Oh no! Now I'm torn. I really think it's a close tie between Haruka and Michiru's Stars deaths and the inners' Classic ones. But I don't know which!! Gah. Darnit. All of them are incredibly sad. Haruka and Michiru's in S was definitely sad as well. And the inners' deaths in Stars... Ah! I can't pick!!! -.- I still think it comes down to the Haruka/Michiru's Stars and the inners' Classic. Pffft. Wow I actually walked away from the screen and thought about it for a long time. And I vote for the inners' firsts. Because it was just sooo sad; the fact that each of them seemed to know their fate, yet kept it up just to be strong.... And I cried especially when the spirits came back. Although it was a highly tough decision. Because the Stars Haruka-Michi was sad as well; I <3 those two. And that was just.... ack! Ok. I'm sending this before I change my mind lol.

Hmmm.... I really didn't think much about the death scenes at all. Maybe it's because I don't find someone or something dying in an anime/movie/TV show heart-breaking. If I felt sad at all, I'd have to say Sailor Saturn's death from S. It was kind of quick, but made me feel a bit sad.

I voted for the inners' (first season) because when i first saw the Japanese eps, I was so upset. It was so sad, especially compared to the dub version. Like most of you guys, it was a hard choice between inners' first season and Stars; Haruka and Michiru's deaths were so moving. ;_;

The first season.I remembered when I watched it I was eight or nine years old,and I still think it the saddness moment among the 200 episodes. The most important reason for choosing it has to be that it is the first death scene in the series,so we tend to think that they ARE dead.But later we know that every dead senshi will be revived again later,that surely reduces our tears.

Definitely Haruka and Michiru in stars.
Of course, I am Haruka-biased...

Yes, and that would be the same for the Inners' deaths in Stars as well. Episode 45 was much better done, with enough time given to each one separately to allow them to sink in. I think Rei's was the saddest of all.... "I should have kissed Yuichiro"
