I wasn't saying Disney was trying to be racist. I enjoy Disney and I know that racism and stereotypical cariactures were common in old cartoons. Ever seen "All This and Rabbit Stew" or "Coal Black and de Sebben Dwarves"? They were considered racist as well and are also banned, yet most people consider them to be some of the best Looney Tunes shorts. What I was saying was that racial stereotypes were commonplace in older cartoons, and even though they probably weren't as big of a deal back then, it amazes me how they look today. They look pretty extreme now -- the Siamese cats all have giant buck teeth and very small eyes, and Chinese Cat from Aristocats even played the piano with chopsticks. It's nowhere near as racist as blackface or something like that, but it's still out there in today's standards. They change over the years. Mammy Two-Shoes from Tom & Jerry had her voice dubbed over and was even edited out in recent years because she's considered to be too much of a "mammy" stereotype today. I'm sure we'll be calling some sort of stereotype in today's cartoons "racist" in twenty years or so. I really don't see how the hyenas from The Lion King were considered racist though.
And I still haven't been able to see Song of the South, so I can't give an opinion on that.

There is one kids cartoon that was on a while ago on ABC kids Australia, which really gets on my brains and nerves the Canadian cartoon "Elliot Kid"! Urgh...!! I HATE that show sooo much so I nicknamed it 'Idiot Kid'. His Imagination are just too over insane (In my point of view)!
There was this one episode about a Japanese exchange student who came to Elliot's house. Elliot thinks he is an alien from outer space and even the japanese words the exchange student says is Alien language in his point of view. His parents tell him he is not an alien but a person from a different country, but he doesnt even listen.
I mean...the directors trying to convince kids that Japanese people are aliens from another planet. I thinks thats wrong!

As many people have stated before, cartoons today are devoid of any feasible plot what so ever and happen to be cheaply animated. But what type of human being knocks down an entire channel before knowing the entire lineup? I agree, Nick does happen to show a lot of crap. Spongebob is stupid, but it's also great for those with escapist mentalities. But what about shows with actual storylines and a plot? Shows like Avatar: The Last Airbender? The show revolves around plot devices such as racism, misogyny, sexism, megalomania, war, death, and spiritual enlightenment. All these topics around tightly wound into a show that is aimed a children as young as seven. The characters of the show are lovable, highly developed, beautifully designed. The backdrops are breath taking, and the music was specifically engineered for the show, not simply purchased as "filler music." Avatar spans only three seasons, but in those 61 episodes we see the characters transform. The protagonist, Aang, sees some of the most dramatic development. Katara, and Zuko too see a lot of personal growth. What type of human being forms an opinion without fully knowing the situation? An ignorant one, that's what. So, before you knock everything that's on TV, get to know the facts.

It seems these days TV and games and music are really getting wierd...
I used to watch a lot of Nick Jr shows because they were simple and quiet (Little Bear was my favorite) And I would watch Doug too (before disney ruined it!)
But now shows are pointless and obnoxious and kids are getting more obnoxious and out of control. When I see kids out these days they are just almost demonic. I never acted like that when I was young, I behaved and was quiet and didn't have loud tv influence either.
The way tv shows are for both kids and adults plus the violent gorey cop killing hooker beating horror games PLUS all the depressing emo screamo heavy growly music, no wonder everyone's all insane. And all these young idiots are the future...scary...
I never get along well with people my age I always prefer talking to older guys who are beyond all that crap!
But anyway thats just my opinion
