This thread is going to deal with all issues related to uploading episodes. If you have problems, read this first! If nothing here works, post in the thread. If you have any suggestions for things that should be added to the list, post here and I will add them to this first post!
Note: The majority of problems occur due to the user's computer/connection/etc., rather than the files themselves. Rarely, my host will have problems, but they are resolved quickly and can be remedied by simply downloading the file again. As of now, I do not think that any files on the website are broken (I check them all before uploading, and if there ARE broken files, I receive dozens of emails about them).
POSSIBLE PROBLEMS WITH EPISODES:
1. Open files properly!!
This is the biggest problem that people have. As stated multiple times on the webpage, episodes are in RM format, so you need Real Player to open them. Also, the episodes are zipped to prevent streaming. To unzip them, you will need WinZIP or WinRAR to unzip them, although Windows Unzipper will also work. You do not have to use these programs, but I recommend them. There are tons of other programs that will unzip the files; try what works best for you!
2. Make sure you completely downloaded the file
Check to see if the file on your computer is the same size as what the website says. If it is smaller, that means that your download did not complete for some reason. You probably need to try downloading the file again. If this happens to you and you have reached your download limit for the day, contact me with your IP Address and I can reset your download limit. You MUST include your IP Address!! Remember: I will know if you have completed your downloads, so don't abuse this privilege! To find your IP address, use whatismyipaddress.com
3. Check your connection speed!
If you have a very slow connection or a dial-up connectoin, the file may not download completely. There is nothing I can do about this because the problem is due to your connection, not the website itself.
4. Check with your ISP!
Some free or low-cost ISPs (Internet Service Providers) will have bandwidth restrictions, so when their routers are overloaded, they may lose data from your download. The file may download wrong and make your browser think that the download is complete, when really it is broken.
Still having problems?
PM me through the forum or use the Contact Form on the website to email me. Please don't contact me without answering the following questions in the email:
- Did you follow all the steps on the forum?
- Exactly what files did you have problems with?
- What is your IP address (find it at whatismyipaddress.com)?
