The Threelights/Starlights: In Depth
This is just a little article that I thought of when I was musing about the Threelights' names.
Threelights: What it means
The Starlights' incognito (disgused ) name were the Three Lights. Obviously the name 'Threelights' came from their given names 'Kou' which means "light". But their names were also signficant to their cause of finding their princess because if not, they would have named themselves something completely different. Whether or not "Kou" was their real names or not, it was important for them to use a name along with their voices that would be easily reconizable; this would allow them to let Princess Kakyuu know they were on Earth, and that they were searching for her.
Threelights/Starlights: Why they ARE NOT related
Okay, there is alot of speculation that the Threelights/Starlights are related. That is NOT true. First of all, as mentioned, Kou is their first name; Seiya, Taiki and Yaten are their last names. Also, they don't use any Japanese forms of familarity, the Threelights call each other by their last names only. Taiki also uses formal Japanese when he's speaking to Seiya or Taiki; for instance, when Taiki asks Yaten to answer the phone properly, he uses "kudasi" which is very formal. In addition, Taiki asks in formal Japanese if Seiya is alright, leading one to believe that the Starlights have a light frienship outside their duty as guardians of Kakyuu, or their friendship was very strained since their arrival on Earth.
Overall conclusion: This information may or may not be correct based on one's view of the Starlights. However, this is how I interpeted it from watching the anime and reading the manga.
That's all I wrote because the rest you know from Starlights Pop and other Starlights shrine.
