I know I've read this somewhere, but I can't seem to find it, and I searched on this forum and couldn't find it so, I was wondering what the difference between Tokyo Pop, Mixx, and Chix Comix? I have one with this cover: But instead of saying chix comix at the bottom, it says tokyo pop manga. Which have Acts/StarS 7,8,9,10, and its pretty thick. I though it was a name change, but I also have 5 thin ones like this(They have red numbers at the top 1-4, and then I have one from SuperS): Which say Tokyopop.com presents ChixComix, NOT Mixx(like its shown in the picture above). ( I bought these a long time ago.) I wanted to know this information because Im planing to buy all of the Sailor Moon manga(if I can ), and I wanted to buy the thick ones with multiple "acts" in them like the one I have of StarS. Im planning to buy them online, so how do I know which ones are the thick ones, and which ones are the thin ones? Is the chix comix, the thin ones? Im confused!

Sorry that no one has been able to help you with this question and unfortunately I will not be able to help much either.
I know the versions that say Pocket Mixx at the bottom are all smaller sets because I own these and they were the original versions that came out in North America. I purchased them all when they first were released.
MIXX then started going through drastic changes, if I remember it was mostly fueled by controversy that happened on the internet with Stuart Levy - the CEO of Mixx. This could be why there is so many format changes over the years from when they first acquired the rights to Sailor Moon Manga.
I remember that originally in North American the manga came out in this order: 1.Mixx Zine with reprints of Sailor Moon 2.Smile with reprints of Sailor Moon 3.Bound books like you have above in your images (Pocket Mixx) 4.Individual Comic Books from Mixx
Someone please correct me if any of my info is wrong.

In the Oracle the cover is shown like this: But when I was on ebay they had it like this: So I was a bit confused But thanks for your explanation! The name changes confused me, but now I see that the one I saw on ebay has Tokyo Pop at the bottom, I just don't know why they have different covers? Oh well, thanks for your help! Karma point!

The one with the wings was the original release when it was still labeled as Pocket Mixx before Mixx turned into Tokyo Pop and re-introduced the series with a new look.

I have mine way out of order. for the Poket Manga (english) ones.. these books look like the real tankubons. Each book i have is the same cover as the original japanese ones.
Mixx - 1-6 Chixx - 7-8 Pop - 9-11 Mixx - supers 1-3 Chixx - supers 4 Chixx - Stars 1 Pop - stars 2-3
I also started to collect the Comic versions.. single act per say. and got up to 16. but was missing book #10 for some reason. and I swore I did buy it.. grrrr. I think they stopped doing the comic version though am I right?
