I was just wondering. Why the creator of the Anime Sailor Moon Series doesn't make a sequel. I mean...it would be a great succes, and more mature, right?

I think it's because she no longer wants to. I mean, it first aired in 1992, correct me if I'm wrong. Unfortunately, very few people are interested in it being completely reaired, and even if it did people who had previously seen the dub would ridicule it. So much to my disappointment, I would say it's dead and staying dead.

Saturnsolider990 is right... nowadays people(not counting us and the other Sailor Moon fans of course) are just not interested in cute girls dressed as sailors, fighting weird monsters anymore! They're all interested in killing anime(see the ultimate wicked "Gunslinger Girls") and Hentai now That and people would say... what cute girls in miniskirts and we can't see no panties... this anime SUCKS!!!

Yeah, Sailor Moon is pretty old, dating back to the beginning of the 90ies. For one thing, too much time has passed for Naoko-sama to make a continuance. Second, less and less people remember Sailor Moon so continuing it now would mean making the new Sailor Moon face a new audience who isn't familiar with it at all and probably wouldn't be interested. Third, making a sequel might not be something Naoko-sama wants to do, since she is an artist and probably wants to do other work and not go back to what she's already done. Forth, like Larry mentioned, Sailor Moon might not be appealing to today's audience because it would be marked as "old fashioned" and "not provocative enough" because those are the things that, sadly, sell these days.

What it's said before it's completely right. Unfortunately enough, the stories with heroes fighting monsters are done. Now, you see that the anime that are most popular are a) with duels and masters with monsters (pokemon like) or b) with "adult content" or c) cool, but known only by two or three people in the whole world. X)

LOL... how can some of the most popular anime be cool, but known only by two or three people in the whole world?
But seriously now, nowadays action packed, non-repetitive anime is in fashion!(that and the ones with "adult content" of course )

Correct me if I'm wrong. But I think Naoko wanted her story to stop at the 5th Arc, the stars arc. I do believe though that creating a new face for Sailor Moon wouldn't be that hard, but since Sailor Moon was originally for kids it would be hard to incorporate the killing and such. Or maybe thats what kids are into these days! ha ha

If only there was a Sailor Moon Gangsta Arc...
Yeah, it's pretty much a done deal. It's been over a decade since the series stopped. The fan base is still pretty strong and active, so you'll find an abundance of stories that continue from where the series left off. I think that bodes well overall for the franchise.
Besides, Naoko-sama seems to like it that way. From what I know, she is happy with the fans keeping the whole thing alive in their own ways.

If only there was a Sailor Moon Gangsta Arc... Sailor Moon: In the name moon, I'll put a cap in yo' ass! I couldn't help myself... Sailor Moon was a great series and all, but we don't want to keep milking it till it becomes utter crap. There are new mahou shoujo series that are basically copies of Sailor Moon, so I think fans who are desperate for a sequal can live off those. I should have worded this differently.

Would you all really want to see another series? I liked where it left off. I don't think I would like to see another series made.

The only reason why I would want another series -maybe even part of just one fandom, such as just part of the anime or just part of the musicals or just part of the manga- is to clearify the bridge between the Present and Crystal Tokyo. To me it is quite unclear and it's hard to clarify between the rumors and the truth.
Also I'm a big Chibi Moon, but that's mostly irrelevant to that. ^_^
