!!! WARNING: RAMPANT SARCASM AHEAD !!!
(I agree with you 100%, I'm just... also very sarcastic!)
Teachers? Doing their job? Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?! Surely you jest. I mean, they have eight whole hours per day with the kids... what are they supposed to do in all that time? It's not like they can teach them for the whole 8 hours... I mean, when are the kids going to look at their myspace pages?!
HOMEWORK. If the kids did all their work at school instead of spending all those hours surfing the internet, they wouldn't have any homework! That would be tragic. So it's necessary to assign papers on topics that can't be googled at school.
Also, I heard that there's a thing they sometimes use called a library, but I'm not sure about that one...
Are you suggesting that... that... PARENTS (!) supervise their children? Come on, now. As all parents know, THEIR sweet little angel doesn't need any discipline. Especially at school. It's just terrible when their darling children are sent to school and then scolded for looking at porn on the internet. Of course the fruit of their loins was completely innocent; of course that mean teacher is just picking on their child.
We are clearly incapable of controlling ourselves and deciding how to tell wrong from right. It's therefore IMPERATIVE that we all have ultra-strict demands placed on us all the time. If we are allowed to have fun, next we'll just be *enjoying our lives* or something!! We might even make personal choices!! My god, the horror!!! Surely you don't want that...?

Firstly: It's the TEACHER'S job to be sure their students are working, and if the teachers don't care enough to look, then the school shouldn't care enough to take away what the students are looking at in their FREE TIME (not to mention in my school I tried to do a research paper on NATIVE AMERICANS a totally legitimate and extremely educational topic, and half the sites were BLOCKED from the school )Teachers? Secondly: What if they wanted to do a paper or project on their actual INTERESTS?! It's not like that's prohibited at school!!!HOMEWORK. I am SO SICK of schools trying to take parent roles, that's why PARENTS are there in the first place, I mean I realize that a lot of them aren't the best parents in the world, but that's between the PARENT and the CHILD and is none of the school's business. They need to quit trying to step in where the parent 'isn't taking care of business'Are you suggesting that... that... PARENTS (!) supervise their children? Come on, now. I seriously swear that more than half of todays schools and work places are trying to form us into some kind of robots....We are clearly incapable of controlling ourselves and deciding how to tell wrong from right.
