Was up at like 3 AM and couldn't sleep... which is when all my on crack ideas come to me. >_>;
Anyway, I was thinking... what if ChibiUsa went back in time after she had grown up to be around the age of 16? Or even in her 20's.... so then she would be OLDER than her mother in the past (if she went back to the same time period that she always does)
Or, what if she's her regular uh... super chibi-moon age that she is in superS, but she screws up somehow and sends herself back to the R season, where she runs into her younger self and everyone else who doesn't know her.
o__O;

I don't think it ever said how old she is. I speculate in her thirties not taking into account that the world was in some kind of ice age/ suspended animation for around a thousand years.
As for Chibiusa going to the time period of the R season she might have a problem with that. Since her younger self was there she may run the risk of meeting her causing some type of time paradox. She may cease to exist or even the whole universe may cease to exist. You know how time travel is in these things.
On a similar note, if I remember right, when Sailor Moon and her friends had to go to the future they were warned about meeting themselves. At least I think that's what happened.
One question about time travel: Has Chibiusa's being in the past altered the future in anyway? Or were all of these events supposed to have happened?

She's 22 years older than Chibi-Usa, so if Chibi-Usa is eight when she visits our time (which I think is roughly right) her mother would be 30. Time travel... this is complicated by the fact that different "versions" exist (for an excellent summary, see here) and SM isn't always clear on which version is being followed. Still, in the early Stars episodes Chibi-Usa starts to fade from existence because her parents are being prevented from getting together, which shows that timelines can be overwritten. (Which makes you wonder what would have happened if Black Lady had succeeded in killing Sailor Moon....) So I would guess yes, there was an earlier version of history in which Chibi-Usa didn't appear in our time, and then she went back and changed history so that she did. (It would be interesting to learn how the Death Busters were defeated in the earlier timeline, but that information can never be retrieved now.)

Yeah that's another thing. You would think that Usagi would just try to remind Black Lady that if she kills her, she's actually going to cause herself to not exist. >_>;

Actually, if Rini were to meet herself in the past, from which point she is already in the past, there would most likely be a time pardox.
However, I quote Doc Brown for Back to the Future Part 2.
"One of 2 things will happen. One: She'll see herself older self and younger self at the same time, causing her to go into shock and pass out. Or two: Her seeing herself could cause a time paradox, destroying the entire universe in the process."
Keep in mind though. BTTF only utilizes one theory of time travel. One where you can overwrite history with your influences in the past, present, or future. I do agree that the SM anime doesn't really specify what theory of time travel they use.
But, I really see Rini not really freaking out seeing herself. Hmmm.... I sense a fanfic idea coming on...

How old is her mother in the future? I've forgotten...old age =[ Didn't Usagi rise to the throne at age 22 (at least in the manga) and stopped aging through the power of the ginzuishou? It gave everyone largely extended lifespans, but I don't remember if it prevented anyone from aging indefinitely or not. I'm tired so I can't really remember all the nuances of Crystal Tokyo right now.

I am pretty sure it was explicitly stated that Queen Serenity was forever at the physical age of 18. Likely, as others have suggested, Usagi upon becoming queen at 22, also ceased to age, possibly forever, but, you know, that could defeat the purpose of ChibiUsa. I imagine all of these queens would probably start aging again at some point.
Edit: Or maybe they just disappear as fairy dust when the time comes?

Maybe the non-aging might defeat the purpose of Chibiusa, maybe not. Is it possible that Neo-queen Serenity retires from her position?
Besides that, if I remember right, Chibiusa stopped aging as a little girl (until she went back in time).
There are also all of the threats to the characters' lives to consider. The first Queen Serenity had Beryl. the new Queen Serenity had Beryl and all those other villains in the Sailor Moon Universe. Sadly enough, she could die much like her mother. Chibiusa could have future threats. Cosmos has her own chaos to deal with. Maybe its a never ending or one of those things where the villain plays a sort of predatory role. One person dies and a new one comes to take their place.
I don't know. This might be all speculation. The fading into fairy dust idea is a good thought too.

destroying the entire universe in the process. And thus, Sailormoon and the entire world ends after R. Thanks a lot, ChibiUsa! LOL

I wasn't really considering Neo Queen Serenity's age... but that's interesting too. I was thinking about what would happen if 16 yr old ChibiUsa shows up instead of 8 yr old ChibiUsa for some reason, and she's like a year older than her mother (Usagi) in the current time (Usagi's present, ChibiUsa's past) The whole ep in SuperS where they switch ages made me think of it. Like if that aged ChibiUsa showed up, but instead of being little Sailormoon's the same age and size. Just odd... and cool.

The non aging thing was something else odd... I'm gonna make a thread about that now.

O.o Wow...Ummm...yeah..kay. How old is her mother in the future? I've forgotten...old age =[ I think Neo Queen Serenity is eternally 22... because I've also read somewhere that she had Chibiusa when she was 22 years old. xD /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// And if Chibiusa went back in time as an older person... wow... she wouldn't have met Pegasus/Helios if that ONE THING only happened one time (as like a 16 or 20 year old) because she needs to be childlike or very young to see or talk or have Pegasus to herself. Or even if she went back and met her younger self, that would break the rule of "do not meet your past self with future self" because that would screw up a whole lot of things! And if she went back to the R season/arc and met her mother in that past time, she could probably pull a "black lady" move and steal Mamoru (her own father! OMFG) away from Usagi. Besides all of that, she would probably be Sailor Chibimoon already and be more mature and stronger powers or she would probably pull a Sailor Moon hero stunt and suddenly replace the original/real SM in that season. DO YOU SEE how much of the original plot she would ruin or mix-up if she travelled back in time as an older person!? Omg.. xD
