Well, I'm going to sound like a complete moron (because I am) but I want to download Realplayer. Simple, yes, but I will use our main computer to download, then I want to install RP on my computer, which is not connected to the interent. Also, I hear RP is often associated with spyware. If possible, I guess I only need a version which plays Realplayer formatted movies. So... can you help?

Honestly? I would avoid downloading Realplayer completely if you can. Past versions did have spyware/adware issues, but I don't know if this has been fixed for the latest version. If you need to play RealMedia files, try the Real Alternative player. I've had a lot of issues with Realplayer in the past and it's near impossible to remove, so I don't really reccommend downloading it unless you REALLY want to. The choice is yours! The only advantage to a RealMedia file these days is its small file size. Too bad VLC Player doesn't support RealMedia format.

Why bother with any new player just to play a proprietary format? Download the codecs by themselves, and play them with your favorite player(as long as it's not Windows Media Player) (I for one like The KMPlayer, it has plenty of built-in decoders, so you don't have to clutter your media system with 20-30 randomly assembled codecs)

Oh, but I need something to use on my old computer which isn't connected to the internet, so I don't really need to be able to do anything too fancy.
