Are Holy Grail Super Sailormoon and Pegasus powered Super Sailormoon the same form? I'm pretty sure that's what's implied, but I don't get *how* or why Pegasus would have the same power as the Holy Grail. I mean, wouldn't it make more sense for the upgraded form he gave Sailormoon to be different than the form she achieves with the Holy Grail? Why is it the same. lol. And why does her back bow change in SuperS... that's something that leads me to wonder if they are two separate er.. 'Super' forms... just *veeery* similar in design. The dumber question is easy to answer: Does Super Sailormoon ever transform *without* Chibimoon? I could have sworn I remember seeing Moon Crisis Make Up with just Usagi... but maybe it was a dream.

Hm. Well, in the manga, the Holy Grail/Moon Chalice only worked when all the 9 senshi (no Saturn) were together. I think Pegasus was able to give them the same form because you know he's Elysion's priest, and really closely tied to the Earth/its senshi.
I always saw them as both Super Sailor Moon and she's called Super in both of those. Maybe the SuperS form is like a "lesser" Super Moon? But in the manga she had foot-length ribbons in both arcs, so maybe it's just an anime thing that they did 'cause they didn't want to animate such long waterfall ribbons. XD They would have to appear a lot more.
...she transformed without Chibiusa during the lake episode. At least I'm sure because Chibiusa shows up to fight the enemy all by her lonesome because she ran away from Usagi, and the Greater Moon Co. shows up with Usagi transformed, so I imagine transforming without each other is possible, lol.

I can't specifically answer your first question. But I can give you a guess. I honestly think both forms are Super Sailor Moon regardless. But, everytime Serena transforms in Super S, she immediately becomes Super Sailor Moon, unlike in Super where she needs to use the Holy Grail before she can tranforms into Super Sailor Moon.
Actually, yes. Most of the time, you do see them transform together. But there is that episode Ellethwen mentioned. Rini transforms and atempts to fight one of the Amazon Quartet by herself. As Ellethwen said, Sailor Moon showed up later with the rest of the Sailor Senshi. So basically, yes either one can transform without the other. I believe they transform seperately in the Super S movie too. I could be wrong.

Yes, and in the manga I think it's kind of more ambiguous exactly *how* they get the new brooches to transorm into Super form without the Grail. I mean, they just summon the Holy Chalices (two, because Moon and Chibimoon each have their own since the Death Busters/Infinity season/arc) and when the chalices fade away they realize it's because the Holy Chalices are summoned each time with the powers of them, plus the inners' and the three outers', but Neptune, Pluto and Uranus aren't there to lend their power so the Chalices can't be completely summoned and just disappear again. So they just put their hands to their chests and say "But we want to transform, the power is in us" (or something like that) and then their brooches change, allowing them to transform into Super Sailor Moon and Super Chibimoon. Then they ask Pegasus for new weapons....
So my doubt is whether in the manga the brooches are supposed to have powered-up because of Pegasus or not. May be it was their own power. Either that or Pegasus was able to summon the land of Elysion to suply the power to make up for Uranus, Pluto and Neptune's absence (and given so many fans say Tuxedo's Golden Crystal is supposed to be as powerful as Sailor Moon's crystal, that would mean his kingdom Elysion is supposed to have as much power as the Moon *as in the planet whose power Sailor Moon summons in the final battle against Metalia in the manga* if perhaps dormant). In the anime, remeber it is not the power of Pegasus himself though, but the Golden Crystal's, which he carries in his horn.
What Ellethwen said about the SuperS/Dream arc Super form being a lesser form is entirely possible, given it is not Super Sailor Moon, but Eternal Sailor Moon who defeats Neherenia for good.

It can be she's less good in SuperS because she has to share her power with Chibiusa: they can transform separately, but their power is the same, divided in two; when Sailor moon transforms alone, in the s season, she has the power of both...?

Judging by ladylilith's comparasion, I can say perhaps that is correct. Take Super S movie for example.
When Super Sailor Moon and Super Sailor Mini Moon reunited within the Black Dream Hole, they both needed each other to destroy it. They used a Double Moon Gorgeous Meditation to destroy it. Also notice, Mini Moon didn't call upon Pegasus to give Sailor Moon the power to destroy the Black Dream Hole. They called upon the power themselves, without Mini Moon calling upon Pegasus.
So, you could say one alone is powerful. But when both are together, they are an unstoppable force.

Very interesting points. I like the idea of a lesser 'Super' form. I just wanted to say I worded the second question poorly. lol. I didn't assume Usagi or ChibiUsa couldn't transform without the other. I'm just curious if we actually see the moon crisis make up sequence with just Usagi alone.
Basically, I got an idea for another little sailormoon 'project' to work on. I want to see if I can reedit the crisis sequence so it's just Usagi. But, if such a sequence already exists I obviously don't want to start such a project. lol.

In one of the games, they transformed seperately. It wasn't anything special though, they just reused footage from Crisis Make-Up for Moon and didn't do anything for Chibi Moon. www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1M6XkxcrQ8

That's probably because the movie followed the manga in that respect: in the manga, both Moon and Chibimoon receive kaleido-moon-scopes (or whatever those weapons are called) from Pegasus, and from then on both can perform Moon Gorgeous Meditation, together or separately, without the aid of Pegasus. While in the anime Pegasus lends Moon the power of the Golden Crystal each time to perform this attack, in the manga he doesn't even have the Golden Crystal, but is looking for it (they eventually find it's inside Mamoru's body) and Neherenia herself is looking for the Silver Crystal and doesn't even seem to know the Golden Crystal exists. Bits of both the Sailor Moon S and the SuperS transformation could be combined to make one of Usagi alone. I would definitely have loved if her SuperS form had kept the butterfly wings that appeared at the end of the Sailor Moon S' one.
