The thing that bugged me for the longest time are those one off moves Sailor Moon uses during the anime "just because". It seems like Sailor Moon has attacks coming of of her butt.
Moon Tiara Stardust: Cool attack don't you think. It's too bad it is only used once even though it could, no wait, should have been pulled off again. I mean seriously the Dark Kingdom posses people all the time. Like in episode 2. Why didn't Luna tell her then. was she not powerful enough. That probably wasn't the case since all she had to do was throw the Tiara. Why would the writers create such an attack if they weren't planning on using it again, when it could have been used.
Moon Crystal Power: The first thing that bugs me about this attack is the name. I think it was just pure laziness that they called it Moon Crystal Power instead of just something interesting that wouldn't confuse the viewer.
I mean c'mon, if I were writing for a Shoujo show, I would at least given it an interesting name. Now the second thing that bugs me about this is why didn't they use this attack to heal the Doom Tree(or whatever it is called in the Japanese version) I mean seriously. They already confused the viewers long enough as to why Moon Princess Halation didn't vaporize the entire tree and then you just throw in this random attack that you could have used earlier and didn't at least give it an interesting name.
Moon Cosmic Power:Ok first, we had an attack that use the transformation phrase to heal an opponent. Now we have the same thing, just different. I never saw the purpose of the writer's giving her this attack since it is basically the exact same thing as Moon Spiral Heart Attack. For that matter why didn't she just say that, instead of adding yet another plot hole to this never ending list of attacks that Sailor Moon has.
Silver Crystal Power: Every time I think of this attack I also say to myself "what?" This attack really didn't need to be here and it is pretty corny. I don't see why the writer's had to throw it in there in the first place. My best guess is to make it more exciting, which unfortunately it didn't. They could have used a cooler version of the Sailor Planet attack, seeing how they have more then five senshi at the moment. But know, Sailor Moon has to risk her, create a brand new attack for no reason, and be the center of attention(poor luna) when she could have done something even cooler.
Crisis Power:Oh look another movie power. I really hate this one. First, it doesn't match her current powers at the time. It's Moon Crisis Sailor Moon. You forgot the Moon even though it is in your name. Second, this would be the third move she preformed using her own transformation phrase. First was a healing attack, then was a Moon Spiral Heart Attack just with a different name , and now it is used just to activate the crystal. Which leads me to my third and final point. Why did she even have to yell this just to activate the Silver Crystal. The other times before this(correct me if I'm wrong) she didn't even have to say anything. Which basically makes this whole power useless.
Silver Moon Crystal Power:.........OK....... looks like the writers were actually reading the Manga. They even gave her that long staff she had when her old weapon broke in the Manga. It is too bad that it is the second to last episode. Not only that, she just used it like she has been using it those whole time even though she has two other attacks that do the exact same thing. Sort of.
Don't get me wrong. I love Sailor Moon. It is just that these useless plot hole attacks appear randomly for no apparent reason at all. If I were to change anything about the anime it would be this.
