The Oracle lists this character's name as Asanuma Ittou. Wikimoon has it the other way round -- Ittou Asanuma. Which is correct, and can you point to specific evidence from one of the versions? NB. This is not a Japanese / Western name order difference, because both sites use Western order for other characters.

Maybe the person on Wikimoon who edited it doesn't realize it's Asanuma Ittou? Also, he's called by the name Asanuma in the manga.

You mean he only has one name in the manga?

Well, they don't call him "Ittou" when they're talking to him; they call him "Asanuma".

Yes, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything; after all, Ami calls Urawa by his surname It's just that for my fan fiction, I would like to know for definite, so I'd like to see some actual proof that settles the question beyond dispute.

I'm almost certain his first name is Asanuma. Also, if it means anything to you, Wikipedia has a captioned picture saying this, in which all first names are used:

Umino isn't his first name and I don't believe Sorano is either

Ah. Well, hardly anyone knows Umino's first name. I just learned it myself! And Sorano is never given another name.
The fact of the matter is, most sources credit him as Asanuma, and considering the fact that Betty Ann has had many issues with Wikimoon in the past, I'm inclined to side with the Oracle.

I've made some corrections to Asanuma's page on the main site to clarify things a little. His name is always written as , so his surname is Asanuma. He's always called by his surname, Asanuma, in the manga (he is not named in the anime).

*kicks self* I don't know the first thing about Japanese writing so that would be why. Yea, sometimes it can get really confusing with all the crazy name orderings and people being called by their surname. It's total insanity!! Sometimes it take a lot of digging before you can even figure it out (hence, this thread). It's enough to make you crazy
