Okay, awhile back I had some street-fighter SM animated gifs on my site. I took them down because I didn't feel right about not knowing who to credit. (I found them on some geocities site that was barely working. XD) I'm thinking about putting them back up because I tried searching for them online on other sites, and it's next to impossible to find them. I found this site ( www.la-soldier.net/Graphics/Vgs/SuSFC_ma.php ) has breakdowns of the gifs, but the ones I had were the attacks and such. I guess, would you think it bad to put them up without knowing who they're from and considering the rarity? (actually I'm having a mini-panic because I can't find them on my computer. )

Have you tried googling their filenames? I've done that once and it saved me! *_*

I would just put them up anyway, and write something that says "If you know who originally made these, please email me." All of the pictures in the anime gallery on my site (NOT the screencap galleries) are from unknown sources... I've had them on my computer since around 1999... there's NO way I could possibly know where those came from!

Well, since they are on Lycentia's site, I'd say give credit to Lycentia. I'm surprised Lycentia's site isn't more popular, I've known about it for a while now. o.o

Lycentia has been around for like, a decade! That's impressive.

My understading about Internet courtesy is that generally speaking, you should not post images that are not yours without permission, even if you do credit someone. Most webmasters would not be happy to see their content on someone else's website without knowing about it first (unless, of course, they specify on their website that such images, prose, etc. is free for the taking).
