Who are the famous people you idolize? My idol is Walt Disney,a man who believed in his dream to create a really fun theme park and never listened to the people who told him he would never be able to achieve his dreams. Just imagine: if Walt had listened to those people,we would not have Disneyland or be able to watch great movies like "Dumbo";we would not have words like Zip-a-de-doo-dah or Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. There would be no "A dream is a wish your heart makes" or " When you wish upon a star". Walt was a great man with big dreams and great aspirations, and he made lots of people happy with his wonderful movies, music and TV programs.

Ironically, mine is also Walt Disney.
You know how a lot of people have something they can cling to? Something they can think of, or look at, or watch, or listen to that will just make them feel better no matter what? This one object, this one thing.. that will just always mean so much to you..
The thing that always makes me happy, is Disney. Listening to the songs from the movies, or watching the movies.. Always makes me feel better. When life is tough, or I feel depressed.. Disney makes me feel better. I have grown up watching Disney movies, going to Disney World, and idolizing The Little Mermaid.
It reminds me that there is love in the world. There is hope, and that you really CAN succeed if you try hard enough. Some of the lyrics, and the messages in movies are just to tell kids to go for their dreams. I love that.. and I can't express exactly how much one man's dream has affected my life for the better ever since I was old enough to realize what was going on around me.
Even though now Disney is such a large company, and it's strayed a bit from what Walt Disney originally envisioned, I love it. I just can't say how much comfort it gives me.
I am a child at heart. I am in love with, and will forever be in love with Disney.
Thank you, Walt Disney.. for making your dreams come true and helping millions of children to realize that theres can come true as well.

J.R.R. Tolkien.
The father of modern fantasy and someone who actually dared to think beyond the box and create a whole new world. Seriously. If it wasn't for Tolkien, I wouldn't be where I am today. I know that sounds weird, but if Lord of the Rings had NEVER been created I wouldn't be writing, or scoring top in the nation in English, or getting my classes in so I can major in English and become and author. If it was for LotR I'd probably still be struggling to become an actress.
Oh, and H_M...
"Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious makes me happy!" ^What a friend of mine said when I told her that "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" is not a word.

Martin Luther King =D
I had to read about him in RE (Religious Education) for a project and I never realised how much he actually did. He went through so much (including his house being attacked) and yet he managed to pull through and defend the African-Americans. I can still remember his most famous speech: "I have a dream that one day my children will be judged, not by the colour of their skin, but by the content of their character"
A true hero and idol!

Hmm... Good question. I idolize various people for different reasons. Here's a very simple list that comes to me off the top of my head:
My father Abraham Lincoln George Washington Thomas Jefferson FDR St. Paul St. Augustine (although more at a glance. It's difficult to really get immersed in his thoughts) Martin Luther King, Jr.
There are a few actors that I idolize because of their talents. I just can't think of all of them at the moment.

I hate when people ask me this question, because I don't really idolize or look up to anyone. I guess I'm just really independent, and plus when it comes down to it, everyone has their faults. Even someone who seems as wonderful as Mother Theresa or Buddha has serious character flaws. I try to look at everyone for what they are, and think of everyone on their own terms, without comparing them to others. So that makes it a little difficult sometimes to say someone else is somehow better than other people. I think everyone's great in their own way I think the closest I'd come to having an "idol" is Richard Dawkins. I really look up to him a lot for having the courage to stand up for what he believes in, even though a huge majority of people think he's a terrible person because of it. And for trying to show the world that atheists aren't evil, immoral murderers/baby-eaters or whatever. And for actually doing it in a confrontational, yet still pretty polite way. But I don't idolize him by any means, just look up to him a lot. Like I said, everyone is going to have strengths and weaknesses of character.

Well, I don't know if he's my "idol", and it makes me feel kind of odd after Budha or Saint Augustine being named, but I'm a big fan of Freddie Mercury, you know, the singer of Queen, I absolutely love his voice and the lyrics he wrote, they are a very important thing in my life, my favorite song, or something that reminds me of a good/bad moment I spend with the people I love I don't know I really, really like him

I'm not sure if I really idolize anyone, but the people that come to mind when I'm asked this question are Bettie Page and Marilyn Monroe. I love them both, and everything they stood for.

My idol is the person who invented Sailor Moon. I mean, without him/her, we would have NO Oracle BSSM! just awful! But for me without him/her, i wouldn't now about other animes or mangas (or my only favorite place to be...CHINATOWN). But It also inspired me to write my own mangas too!

Anne Frank is wonderful.
I have allot of other idols, but my new MAJOR one is that man who only had like 6 months to live, and he wrote a book on his lecture called "The Last Lecture." He was soooo amazing. He inspired me to do allot more in my life.
