We are reading To Kill a Mockingbird in English 2 and in English 3(I have to take both at the same time cuz I failed English 2 from absences last year) we just finished The Pit and The Pendulum, and also I have to write a book report in that class and I picked I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings for that, I'm almost through with it.

I must recommend Bram Stoker's Dracula to everyone; it was the first book to give me reoccurring nightmares! It's all very well written and wonderfully drawn out!

I never read The Scarlet Letter before but I heard of it. Also, if you like that sort of thing, I would recomend reading or seeing a play called The Crucible. I read it in my high school English class and watched a movie they made. I thought it was pretty good.

I haven't read any good books lately. I like to read books for more mature ages and when I do find one, people stop me and force down a book about a spoiled, whiny teenager. Even my school does this. I guess I have to wait until High School to read the more mature books.

I have never had that problem before. In fact, in two highschool english classes I had I was assigned two books that were banned in some states. Farhenheit 451 and Black Boy.

The last book I read which I thought was good was The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Series. Even though it did have whiny teenagers in it, it still was pretty good.

I'm not sure what state banned it or why it was but I think it most likely was because of the racial slurs that the characters use.
