Lol. I find it sooo annoying sometimes that nobody I know likes Sailor Moon as much as I do. I really just looove to babble and ramble about Sailor Moon all day. Which attacks I like, who's the coolest character, Haruka-Michiru, music, prettiest... I could really go on forever about everything. And I usually do if someone starts me on the topic. xD But my friends are just un-understanding. Like my friend is against anime/manga in general and she rolls her eyes and says I'm waay too obsessed whenever I mention something about it and gets all mad. My other friend loves magical girl manga, she read Tokyo Mew Mew and Mermaid Melody BEFORE I told her 'Read Sailor Moon! It's the ORIGINAL magical girl!' And she still doesn't like it as much as I. You don't know how long I have been trying convince her to watch the anime too.
I don't know. Every time I try to talk about it because I get all excited about it and I love it so much, everyone gets so annoyed and think I'm waay to obsessed.
It's lonely to keep all these thoughts to myself.
Is anyone in the same boat as me?

How would you feel if a friend talked about nothing except one subject that you didn't care about? It's all well and good to be "obsessed" with something as you put it, but don't try and push it on your friends. You aren't going to win converts that way and you're just alienating people who don't share that one interest.

Heheh, rei-chan, I've somewhat given up on my friends. ;D I sometimes just zone out of their conversations and have my own conversation with them in my head (in a way, then, they can become Sailor Moon-obsessive too should I choose it). But, ya, rosesablaze has a good point there. Don't get too annoyed by them, they just can't see the importance of Sailor Moon in our lives as much you can! Lol

I don't get annoyed with my friends if they don't want to talk to me about it because they don't enjoy it. However, I do get bothered when they will say whatever they wish about anything they like even if I'm not a big fan but I get completely ignored. Haha. Yeh. But I agree with the fact that you can't try and push it on people.

I mostly obsess about Gwen Stefani and I obsess about her so much that some of my friends call me Gwen and that they sometimes tell me to shut-up when I start obsessing about her or when I start singing one of her songs.
I`m also obsessed with Anime and Manga and Cosplay, etc. but I don`t really obsess about that because I`d be the odd ball if I start obsessing about that. For some reason, some of my classmates thought I was kinda weird last year because I listen to J-Pop. Yeah, J-Pop and Anime and stuff isn`t as contagious as Gwen Stefani in my area. I guess because J-Pop and Anime, etc. is foreign so people aren`t really gonna be into it. I keep my Japanese Culture obsession within the Otaku community.

I somewhat keep it a secret... I kept a secret that I watched anime even when I was the proper age to watch it without people judging me... Then when there were visitors coming for dinner my mum would tell everyone at the table of how much I liked a 'Chinese Cartoon' called Sailor Moon and completely embarrass me... :S I just didn't have people to share it with: I had changed from public school to a private school when I was ten and the kids in the private school were superficial and snobby, they kept talking about things that didn't interest me and I was the shy new girl that didn't know the codes or how to talk to people... eventually they classified me as a bookworm and ostracize me. Finding Sailor Moon around that time was one of the only things that helped me cope with the lonliness, perhaps that's the reason my obsession still lives on today... Thanks for cheering me up those days, Usagi! I don't care if people don't get my passion for Sailor Moon, I still like it! ^_^

Meh, I only know one person who will listen to me talk about sailor moon. Everyone else I know does not care at all. In fact most of the cringe when I even mention the name, and not because I ramble about it one end or anything. I never even get that far before being told how horrible it is, end of subject. The funny thing is these exact same people can force every single thing they like down my throat on whenever they want. Why because what THEY like is actually cool. It never matters what I want to show them its stupid, or boring, or crude. As soon as I go to tell them about something i think is cool, they always watch or listen to about 10 to 15 seconds of it, say yeah its okay, boring, etc, then say let me show you something cool. I have just given up altogether. I don't even bother to tell anyone I know about stuff I like anymore.

Many of my friends don't even now what are anime and manga. They know for yu-gi-oh and dragon ball, but they don't have an IDEA that these are japanese. So I don't talk about it.

My usual friends are used to it. They all have their own weird little obsessions so none of them can really say anything (like the one that LARPs). My husband doesn't really *understand* it, but he basically lets me do what I want. The girls at work think I am insane.

Yeah, my friends get to wonderfully ranmble about Naruto or Prince of Tennis or something like that, those animes that are actually popular right now, and when I start Sailor Moon it's 'Eww, bleh! *roll eyes*' So it's not like I'm being particularly annoying. I mean, I listen to them talk about how annoying and stupid Sasuke is and how annoying Naruto's dub voice is even when I don't watch it, so why can't they just listen to me ramble about how annoying Chibiusa is for once?

Eh, none of my friends know about my SM fetish. Except maybe one, but she doesn't mention it if she does. I don't think any one of my friends knows what Sailor Moon is. But most of my friends DO know what anime/manga is and we rant and rave about that all the time. But yeah, I don't mention Sailor Moon around them.

I don't discuss my Anime obsession with my friends that don't like it. They are not interested and they don't care, so I don't waste my breath really. Especially when they ask why I coolect painted plastic for a cartoon. Don't even go there.

You don't know how long I have been trying convince her to watch the anime too. just noticed the comment... but it probably is't the start magical girl (which is what original would be) I love all 3 mentioned (i do wish the dubbers would hurry with the mermaid melody translations or i was smart enough to pick up japanese lol) but yeah, japan seems very much into these sort of things and even outside of japan you have pre-sailor moon magic girl shows, so it seems likely not to be the first
