Not here either bwahahaha, I know in some states in the US it is illegal, but not in this town, and considering you can buy fireworks off the highway I doubt that it's illegal to purchase them in OK, I just know you're not supposed to set them off in the city, but I live in the country so we're good.

I have never once been injured by a firework, maybe if people weren't so stupid with them there wouldn't be injuries. I can even light them in my hand and throw them without getting hurt, which is how a lot of people get hurt because they get distracted and just leave it in their hand. Obviously, they can be handled carefully because the only injury in our entire family from fireworks was my cousin Shane who is schizophrenic and on heavy medications, and all he did was hurt his finger. So maybe fireworks aren't that dangerous, maybe people just need to learn how to use them without being stupid?

Yeah but banning firecrackers is a lot easier than educating people, education never catches with SOME people anyways so yeah! It's a good thing they banned firecrackers.
[edit] oh and I don't know about you but out of 20 firecrackers 2 were faulty here, they either didn't explode or they exploded too soon.

well here the fireworks are all made pretty darn good. And I realize that but I just hate that stupid mentality, that because half of the country is stupid with the fireworks no one should be allowed to have them, it's completely unfair for the people that know how to work with them. I think everyone should have to go through a test to get fireworks lol and if they don't pass then they can't have them, there that fixes it lol.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! And on the subject of fireworks, in Illinois they're illegal without a permit so for one Fourth of July we've gone to Wisconsin and... well, you figure out the rest.

Happy New Year! I hope no one partied too hard! I'm pretty sure fireworks are illegal here too but we hear them on almost every holiday. In fact, I hear some now ... and it 11:00 in the morning.

About the fireworks, in Croatia they are allowed from 5th December till 2nd January. I like fireworks but I hate firecrackers, the loud ones especially. Yesterday my boyfriend's friend was throwing the very loud ones in the yard of the house where we were and he gave me a camera to record it. The camera was switched to night mode and the screen was all green but since I'm very afraid of firecrackers every time one went off I'd shake. For a brief moment I really felt like a reporter from a war zone.
