I hope this has not already been posted Anyway if you think of an awkward situation, we’ll help you solve it!
It happens to every once in awhile or for some people quite often. Since it’s in the humor section the answers don’t exactly have to be completely practical so anything goes!
I thought of one that happened to me awhile ago, what do you do (without looking like too much of a fool) if you forgot the name of the person you’re talking to but he or she remembers yours?

I have that problem all the time.
I usually just blantantly say, "I'msorry, I forgot your name..." they usually just laugh...but it's still reall awkward.

Haha yeah what I do usually is I use PRONOUNS a lot "Hey you!", and try and see if anyone else says their name or if he/she has a name tag!

Ok, you know when somebody asks you something and you don't quite understand what they are asking? So you are kind I say "Sorry, I didn't understand, could you repeat it?" And they repeat it, but you still don't understand...in that situation, when I am to embarrassed to ask the person to repeat the question the second (of the third) time I just mumble something vague and shake my head in a way that could be interpreted as a "yes", as a "no" and as a "maybe". Take your pick. XD On the note of forgetting people's names I just say I forgot their name or use pronouns avoiding addressing them with a name.

It works most of the time unless he/she actually asked you to do something! Hmm what about when you heard something wrong like I dunno someone actually said, "How did you do that?" and you thought "How do you do?" and you reply, "I'm fine thank you!"

A woman once asked me where I was from but I didn't understand so I asked her to repeat it and she did but I still didn't understand, so I just nodded my head in a vague manner and said "Yes..." XD

I'm usually good at remembering people's names, but if I happen to forget I usually avoid saying the person's name hoping someone else will say it. Or, I ask someone else when no one's paying attention.
As for the not understanding what he or she said situation, I do agree nodding and smiling works most of the time.
Here's another situation: walking and someone else is walking in the opposite direction towards you, and then when you step aside to avoid crashing into that person, the other person steps on the same side! Then it could turn into you and that person doing some awkward sidestep dance before you finally get past each other.
So now I just try to keep walking straight and let the other person step aside.
Finally, I just watched "The Bus Uncle" video recently and let me just say that tops awkward situations right there.

Ah yeah that's happened to me too. What if... it was like on a side walk and you just decided to go crazy and run through the grass flailing your arms screaming "GET OUT OF MY WAY!" What is the bus uncle video?

It's a video where a young man on a Hong Kong bus tells the older man in front of him to lower his voice on the phone, and the older man makes a 6-minute scene. www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsYRQkmVifgI think the young guy handled it pretty well. I probably would have cowered in fear, if I had the nerve to confront him in the first place.

I usually don't understand what other people ask me XD especially when they're strangers. so, Lemonachi's and Tritogeneia's situations are common with me.

hehe, on a similar thing...when my friend Eric gets to an akward silence in a conversation, he pulls out his "akward animals", which is when he makes animals with his hands, makes noises, and kind of attacks the person with them. I'll have to tape him doing it sometime soon, 'tis hilarious. ^^

I love how no one ever knows what I'm saying lol. Not because it's not easy to understand, because I'm really straightforward, but because we stopped talking about the topic an hour ago, we're on to something totally different, and I randomly state something I remember about the topic and everyone looks at me very confused >_< I can't help it! I have a short attention span!!!!
