Ok, need help here. I'm going o a new school next year. And I need help. People there are going to have LONG hair, and for some reason, it makes me feel bad because I REALLY want long hair, and I don't have money for a wig. So here is the question. Should i buy a long hair wig, and wear that to school? I mean, my mum might think its silly, but she knows how much it means to me, so if she says no I'm doing it anyway! If the wig thing is a total N-O, then what should i do about my hair? I really want it long, really fast. I know its a sill post, but my friends and parents just don't give a about the issue.

Well, I would say be carefull with extensions, because some kid trying to be funny might rip it out and you'll never hear the end of that. It happened to a girl my sixth grade class and she still gets teased.
other than that you could try to find a cool style to copy, or dye it a fun color. I mean as long as your no bald you'll find something to do.

I would totally stay away from wigs! Just let it grow out. I guarantee you that you will get teased less for having short hair than you would if someone found out that you're wearing a wig. Plus, good wigs are EXPENSIVE. (I'm a theatre geek, I know this. Lol.)
Also, find out what is acceptable at the school before you dye it colors. When I was in high school, a lot of schools did not allow unnatural hair colors. You would actually get sent home and told not to return until it was a natural color.

yeah wigs are a bad idea, it wont take long to figure out its a wig... and you'll be laughed at plus your hair should grow about 15cm in year, i don't know how much longer you want it but thats a start

Well you know those Barbie dolls that have that hair dye that comes out in water. I'm saving up my bucks for one of those. And yes I like Barbies. not Bratz though, they teach kids to dress bad, and worry about how they look. Not a positive influence.

i agree there, bratz dolls are on the slutty side considering the ages that are most likely to be having them, its not a good influence - but then i'm not a fan of dolls really, guys ones or girls, if you look at the different things... barbies are slight pretty things, nice outfits expensive cars and horses... not very practical for most and baby dolls, i don't think such things are good, not matter how good they make them, they cast a disillusionment on how having a baby is and i think if the reality of baby life was known the dolls wouldn't be very liked at all. and guys dolls such as the various 'action' figures, they preach fighting, is it really a good thing when you teach that fighting is the way to solve any problem... i think this plays somewhat of a influence... along with tv on how society is turning out. basically no bounderies are set for many, kids can get away with anything even murder! *coughs* sorry rambling on... lol

Actually I don't mind "action" figures. I agree that learning how to fight and defend yourself is a good thing. I don't agree you should fight against people you wanna kill for money or revenge but knowing to defend yourself from an attacker is a "must have" skill. You know if someone tries to hurt you and they throw the first punch, well then you have every right to punch the crap out of them, and then when the cops get involve, you just tell them "it was self defence" ;D I do kick boxing, and its sooo fun!!

but then its not as practical as you think, i've done self defense, everything can be countered especially kick boxing, if in pinch rely on your head more than attack, you may just find your opponent to be better than you, stronger than you and more aggressive - don't take it wrong i've nothing against using it as a means of fitness, but your head is your best asset

No matter what, every fighting or defensive move can be countered of course. And if you were to get in a fight, there is bound to be injuries, its just a matter of you wanting to have more injuries than your opponent. And besides, if worse comes to worse, break the rules and just kick 'em where it hurts, then either run away or continue. Yes and your head is your best asset. So what would you do if someone were to punch you in the head without you provoking them?

me, i'd be possibly on the ground (depend on how hard been hit) with a stunned look, lol
if i was angered i might fight... overwise i'd avoid it at all cost, i've had my head badly injured once in my life, i don't intend to deliberately have it so again *shrugs*

I don't think anyone wants their heads injured "deliberatley", but yeah, I would if someone were to physically provoke and anger me. Idk, thats just me, I've always grown up with boys and yes we "play fight", including kicking punching, pinching and haha nipple cripples!! (Btw, I was the one giving 'em nipple cripples)!
Good ol' days ^^
