i need help. There is a convention coming soon, and I REALLY wanna go. But my costume i bought on the internet sucks. I'm sprucing it up to make it Sailor Moons Eternal form, but i need your help. 1. What sorts of materials should i use? 2. how short should the skirt be? 3. and most of all, my hair. I personally HATE it. I hate my hair to the extent of where i want to shave it off, and buy a pretty sailor moon one, and wear that instead. (my hair is cute, but it doesn't look good on ME. probably on someone else, but not ME) Is there some kind of shampoo or pill i can take that will make my hair be down 3 inches above my waists (my hair is shoulder length now) in 2 years? thats about 14 inches. If not, i can do the wig deal.
4. And what should i do about the boots and wings? Someone out there? I really need your help so.........please help!

What Sailor Moon Costume do you have?? Is it the normal, super or already eternal?? And also, the fabric you should use is the fabric the costume you have is already made out of. You wouldn't want the costume to be originally made out of satin and then you bought silk for the upgrade. The skirt should fall to the middle of your thighs, depends on your height. As for the wings, I'd do it the easy way, Id look for costumes that already provide the angel wings and use those. But I recon, if you really want some nice wings, go to a ummm....... s*x shop! If they have angel lingerie, with the wings, get those!!! If you have a hard time to go to a s*x shop, then use my first suggestion. (First time I went to one, the person behind the counter asked for ID..... I walked out lol) Your hair, that is completely up to you. Boots, well, If Id make boots for my costume Id use any shoes of mine (preferebly boots) and make myself something similar to Leg warmers?? The ones that go from your ankles to your knees, Im not sure of the name.... Make some red or hot pink ones and add a white ribbon on top with a yellow moon on it. Hope all that helps

Okies, here we go. Materials: Anything *not* super-shiny. I know it's popular, but it's really not professional and it looks tacky after a while. I would suggest sateen-it provides a slight gloss, but not super-shininess. Length: Whatever you feel comfortable with. However, I would suggest NOT making it an actual miniskirt length. You'll probably feel uncomfortable running around in close proximity to a bunch of people you don't know at a convention in a teensy, flippy little skirt. I would suggest a coule inches above the knee. Hair: www.amphigory.com has a great selection of wigs. The great thing about these is that you can let your hair grow naturally to the length you want. I wouldn't suggest pills, as they probably don't work. To hold up you hair, try getting a hair net, and make sure you pick up wig detangler. Wings and Boots: A costume shop for the wings, or cosplay.com. Really, I wouldn't go to an, ahem, sex store. You will get ID'd. As for the boots, you might be able to buy some at cosplay.com, but before you hit that, try visting a shoe store and looking from some knee-length boots there! They're really popular right now, so you should be able to find some. White ones are good to look for, but if you can't find white, buy some white fabric you can sew over the boots. Also, a ribbon, and an applique for the moons. You can then modify the boots like that.

*sigh* i loked at www.amphigory.com but i dont know howto navigate around that site. And what did you mean by "The great thing about these is that you can let your hair grow naturally to the length you want"? I'm too lazy to grow out my hair naturally T.T so thats a problem.

Okay, up at the very top is the navigation bar. Hover over "Wigs, etc." and when the menu drops down, click on "Wigs".
And what I meant was, when you have a wig, you can wear that and let your hair grow naturally until it reaches the length you want. My hair grows rather fast, but I'm not sure about you.

How about hair extentions??

Yeah, my teacher got extensions. I want mine to be like PGSM normal Usagi hair I asked the hair dresser and she said "Usually they make your hair look THICKER not longer. If you got extensions on the tips of your hair, it might look cheesy because that thing you have to glue on the hair will show up, depending on who your having it done by. And not only that, but i had a friend, she only had about 3 inches done, and it costed her $60.00! And since your hair gets split ends, you can only have the extensions in for about 6 months. So in my opinion its a waste of money." I agree, i wanted extensions SO badly. Now i just think they are useless. But i still want long hair T.T

I'm sorta annoyed by this. I see allot of cosplayers with eternal moons skirt. and they have it really short (wrist length). And I think. How? how do they get that much fabric in that little amount of space? see?sorry if that caught you off guard XD see? Wrist length...Oh come on! thats like...above the wrist!
These aren't me in the pictures, I just found them online

The second girls is a little bit below the wrists and was short, the third one had long arms.

Okay, the costumes aren't actually wrist-length. Because Setsunakou is holding her arm out, it creates the illusion that it's wrist-length. I think that's called parallax.
It's better to measure skirt length from the knee. The Eternal skirt is mid-thigh length. Depending on your height, the length will change--for example, from my hip to my mid-thigh is about a foot and a half, give or take a few inches. In fabric terms, that's actually quite a bit of space, although from our points of view, it can seem like a lot.
Also, the skirts in Sailor Moon don't actually start AT the hip. They start a little above at the sides, curve along the small of the back, and drop down to a little below the belly button (not as, err, low as some people seem to think).
So, assuming you've got about a foot and a half to work with, it divides pretty evenly. Since the top layer's not too long and the spaces between aren't that long either.
:3 I hope I'm being helpful ^.^

I don't really have any suggestions about the skirt because I've never made a senshi outfit. However, if you're going to cosplay as Usagi, you don't necessarily need super-long hair. When I cosplayed as Usagi, my hair was only just below my shoulders. I couldn't have grown it to Usagi's length if I tried! I cheated a bit and did PGSM-style Usagi hair. I found ponytail covers that matched my hair, then pulled them over pigtails. It was quick, easy, a little cheesy... but it worked. I have a couple of pictures to show you what I mean: One (it looks really messy here) TwoYou can go for a wig if you want, but I like the natural hair look. It makes a costume look more personal, even though it's not entirely accurate.

Wow! They're great! Sailor seiza, I have never heard of hair growth pills... DON'T TAKE THEM!! I've never cosplayed, but simple seems to be best, to make sure you're not weighed down or dropping bits. Good luck!
