Mafia – Sailor Moon Style!
As a lover of the game, Mafia, and of Sailor Moon, I have decided to combine both! Yes, it’s the classic game of Mafia, with a Sailor Moon twist (names switched around and narration reflecting Sailor Moon).
For those unfamiliar to the game, here’s how it works.
There are two sides in the game: the Senshi and the Enemy, we can make this whichever enemy we want to make it, Black Moon, Dark Kingdom, etc. (Mafia players may know these as the ‘Town’ and ‘Mafia’). At the beginning of the game, the Narrator will secretly send everyone their role. The Enemy will know each other, while everyone else will only know their own role – unless they are willing to divulge it.
There are two phases. The first is ‘Night’. During Night, the Senshi are not allowed to communicate, but the Enemy are to discuss privately (through private messages) amongst each other who to kill. They then send their decision (through private message) to the Narrator.
The next phase is ‘Day’. The Narrator will reveal the player whom the Enemy has killed, and the player’s role. During ‘Day’, the Senshi must choose someone to kill as well. Their goal is to eliminate the Enemy – however, the Enemy can try to deceive them and cast suspicion upon another innocent player. All players will discuss and vote for the person whom they would like to kill during the ‘Day’. The player with the majority of votes is the one to be killed, and then another ‘Night’ begins.
The Narrator will attempt to provide creative and interesting narrations for how each person gets killed for entertainment. Because this Mafia game is Sailor Moon Style, all the narrations will be related to Sailor Moon!
The Roles:
Luna (or, in traditional Mafia, the ‘Cop’): Each Night, Luna is allowed to investigate one player to find out whether that player is part of the Enemy or not (through private message to the Narrator). Luna is on the Senshi’s side.
Tuxedo Kamen (or, in traditional Mafia, the ‘Doctor’): Each Night, Tuxedo Kamen can choose one player to protect (by sending their name to the Narrator). If the Enemy tries to kill that player, they will fail. Tuxedo Kamen is on the Senshi’s side.
Sailor Uranus (or, in traditional Mafia, the ‘Vigilante’ – this role was named based upon the S season, when Uranus was willing to kill anyone who got in the way): Each night, Sailor Uranus may kill another player (by sending their name to the Narrator). Sailor Uranus is on the Senshi’s side.
Galaxia (or, in traditional Mafia, the ‘Serial Killer’): Galaxia, like the Sailor Uranus, may kill another player each Night (by sending their name to the Narrator). However, Galaxia is not on the Senshi’s side or the Enemy’s side. Galaxia wins when everyone else is dead.
Depending on how many people wish to play, I may add in more groups of players against each other, meaning, separate groups of Enemies who act independently of each other and must kill the other Enemy groups and the Senshi to win.
Rules:
-Please bold your vote to make it easier to count.
-If you have been killed, please do not divulge information.
-Enemy, please select one player in the group to send the player you decide to kill.
-Do not quote any private messages as evidence to kill someone.
-Do not post during Night.
-Do not discuss with each other during Night, unless you are the Enemy.
-It’s supposed to be fun, so don’t cheat and ruin the game.
-Don't delete anything previously posted, even if you might have said something you realized may make you or your team lose.
Anyone is welcome to play, you don't have to ask, just post and say you'd like to join, however, please note that once the game starts you CANNOT JUST DROP OUT! This game requires a certain number of people to play, so if you drop out, it makes things extremely complicated and we have to go find random players to substitute in at the last moment. It is not good. We had some issues with two people wanting to just stop playing last round, and I had to find random people to come in and take their spots. So please do not do that. Thank you! :]
