Don't worry too much about Pluto.
- In the BSSM world, Pluto is a planet. That's not going to change within the story (unless the creator says otherwise).
- Pluto is a special kind of a planet, a dwarf planet! So, in a way, it's not really accurate to say that Pluto is no longer a planet of some kind.
- Sailor Pluto is still a real sailor soldier even if her planet is a dwarf planet. After all, the moon is not considered a planet according to the IAU, but it eventually has not one, but two sailor soldiers representing it.
- Sailor soldiers in the BSSM world represent hoshi, or hoshiboshi, which can be translated as "stars" as in "celestial bodies."

I personally think they should of left Pluto alone. Why suddenly change something that's been around for centuries? This is like suddenly deciding Norway is no longer a country-it's stupid and it's pointless. It makes me wonder what planet these bored IAU people will decide to take away next.
Pluto will always be a planet to me,BTW.

What's next-Mercury and Earth becoming asteroids? Really-this is getting out of hand. The IAU needs to stop messing around with planets.

Actually, no. The news said it was now an asteroid with a random number attached to it. When did that happen??? So stupid! Tombaugh must be turning in his grave.

This is like suddenly deciding Norway is no longer a country-it's stupid and it's pointless. It makes me wonder what planet these bored IAU people will decide to take away next. I don't think was an arbitrary decision on their part. I'm not completely privy to the specifics on why they did it (all I know is that they decided to define what a planet is and Pluto didn't make the cut), but I am sure that the IAU didn't get together one day and say, "Hey, how about taking away Pluto's classification as a planet?" In any case, it was discovered in 1930, so Pluto hasn't been a planet (in classification terms) for centuries. And why would the IAU do that? Those are two planets that fall under the requirements for a planet. Besides, it's not like the IAU just went nuts and started changing everything around. In the end, the Solar System is pretty much the way it was-- Pluto isn't going to disappear now, and it probably won't for a long time.

They changed Pluto's status because it didn't fit the criteria for being a planet... It was a tough decision to make because everyone had to agree that it didn't fit the criteria, and a lot of people kept saying no, so the debate was around for awhile...

You can think Pluto is a planet all you want Haruka. :OP All I am saying it that I think it's silly to base sometime like this on sentiment. They should really come up with classifications for various planets. They aren't all going to fit into one generic defintion. I too believe Pluto could be classified as a planet, but not under the same classification as a planet like Earth. That being said, I don't think Earth and Jupiter should be classified in the same way.

^ Uh, don't shoot the messenger because of the message.
I definitely agree with you on making the classifications clearer though.
