I have been trying to decide for at least 2 weeks now on buying the original manga editions. I own all seasons of SM now, and I want to buy the original as well as the new edition mangas.
I know where to buy them... there are lots of used ones on the net, I am just concerned about the condition of them and whether they have the miniposters inside.
I was wondering, as I see many of you own the manga, where you bought them and how they look.

I own all of the original manga. I bought all except for two from jpqueen.com, and they are in wonderful condition!

Is there anywhere you can buy the manga in english? I don't care if its used or not, as long as its in decent condition. Where I live, in the bookstores they don't sell it.

Yeah, those are sold on amazon. I was going to buy those at first, but if you read the reviews people write, they'll say that the translations are really inconsistent and americanized (as in there's a lot of slang). That type of thing really annoys me, and that's when I thought about getting the originals and just read the translations from Alex Glover.
But since some people can't really use credit cards, I guess buying them through a local store and reading online translations wouldn't be bad either.
Thanks Betty! I get kind of confused with the 'B' and 'C' condition ratings JPqueen has. Do any of yours have yellow pages? I bought the first volume from eBay and while the seller said it was in excellent condition, the cover was a little bent and the pages were yellow. Then again, they are pretty old. ^^;;
Also, only Volumes 1 and 2 weren't printed with miniposters, right?

I think I bought all of mine in B condition, and maybe a few in C condition. The covers are all fine, and they all have the fold-out posters that they're supposed to have. I think one or two have slightly yellowed pages, but that's not unusual at all, considering that these books are almost fifteen years old!

Yeah, it's unbelievable that people still go crazy over them. Like me! ^-^

Mm hmm, I really want the english versions, but I don't know where to look. They are the same as the original version right?

I was wondering, as I see many of you own the manga, where you bought them and how they look. It depends on how much you want to spend on the books as to the condition they are in. I have bought quite a few from a seller on ebay and they are in excellent condition, some are like new. He doesn't sell via auction very often though so I'd have to let you know the store name. He also sends out a cd with the translated version on it! I was very happy with his service. Nowdays I buy mine from Japan. I just bought books 1-10 in good used condition. Some have yellow-ish pages and some don't. If you want me to find you some in good condition I can help you out. I usually buy heaps of them (I have 3 sets now )

Wow, thanks that's really nice. I've actually started buying the original manga since I started this thread. I bought them on ebay as well and I own most of the volumes.
