Just wondering what everyone is thinking about SAILOR COSMOS. Do you think that she IS the future form of Sailor Moon, or is she a different person altogether? There has been some debate on this topic, so I just want to see what everyone else thinks. I'm thinking of writing an article about it on my site. I personally believe that she is the future form of Sailor Moon. What do you think? Support your argument!

I don't know that I think Cosmos is the future form of Sailor Moon. Something that has always seemed apparent was that no matter the form the senshi keep the same features that show who they are. For example, whether Usagi is Princess Serenity, Sailor Moon, or Neo-Queen Serenity she always has long hair with odangoes. If Cosmos is the future Sailor Moon, why would that now change so that her hair has heart shaped odangoes? Granted it could be a ploy to make it more mysterious so people wouldn't see her and at the drop of a hat yell she must be related to Usagi in some way. Sailor Moon's senshi forms have always included her planet (so it's actually a satellite but meh, details suck sometimes). Sailor Moon, Super Sailor Moon, and Eternal Sailor Moon all maintain the same aspect of who she is as the Moon Princess. She represents the Moon so it seems unlogical that a future form of her wouldn't include the word Moon in it. Looking at Sailor Cosmos' uniform two conclusions can be formed. Her brooch and forehead symbol resemble a shining star from far away. That could suggest that she's a new scout altogether. Of course, looking at her skirt you see lines of different colors. Based on the picture I've pulled up now, it looks like burgundy (Pluto), purple (Saturn), pink (Moon/ChibiMoon), red (Mars), gold/yellow (Venus), green (Jupiter), aqua (Neptune), deep blue (Uranus), and blue (Mercury) are all represented. There is a picture of all the scouts together and Sailor Moon in the center where she seems to represent white. So that would mean she isn't represented and by that thought it must be her. I'm really not sure what line of thought to go with but I hope I brought up some interesting points for the rest of you

I still hold the argument that Cosmos is indeed Usagi from the "Me of here" line in the manga.
Of course there's still a lot of debate. Too bad Naoko couldn't release some sort of ultimate character guide. Then we'd have all the answers.

How do you know there isn't one already? Considering I keep up on most of the books released, I've never seen one. And, most of the stuff released now deals with the live action series anyway.

This topic is a bit old, but I liked it and wanted to put something out there. Anemosagkelos had some great points. I agree with many of them.
Now, my memory may be a bit foggy.. it has been quite a while since I read the manga. But, from reading the Stars manga, I got the impression that SailorCosmos is more like a future descendant of SailorMoon.
If I remember correctly, she admitted that she ran away from evil forces [Galaxia, right?] of the future because she could not defeat them. If Cosmos was actually Sailormoon, why wouldn't she be able to defeat the same evil in the future that she had defeated in the past?? Did that make sense?
I don't know. I guess I believe that SailorCosmos is a descendant of SailorMoon who is somewhat weaker than SailorMoon.
Please let me know if my reasoning is faulty. ^.^

Well, I think that Sailor Cosmos is definitely Sailor Moon in the future. I say this because she says that "the me of here" was all alone (referring to Sailor Moon), so she came back as ChibiChibi to be a companion and guide her.
I think she is the ultimate, strongest form of Sailor Moon, but that because she didn't make the sacrifice at the Galaxy Cauldron, Chaos became too strong for her to defeat, so she kept running away. Eternal Sailor Moon then sacrificed herself in the Cauldron to save everyone, thereby changing the way things happened in Sailor Cosmos's version of the past. She then tells the Sailor Quartetto that Eternal Sailor Moon is the true Sailor Cosmos.

I haven't yet, but I definitely plan to in the future. Right now, it's difficult enough for me to even have time to eat, much less work on that! I'm taking classes from 8am-11am, then I work from 1pm-8pm every night - then I have to come home and do reading/homework! I'm also writing a paper right now... so life is pretty hectic. I wanna get started on that (and some other project ideas!) when I get a little break, or maybe one weekend.

I think that possibly the "me of here" line could have been referring to her previous reincarnation, as in the reincarnation of this time. I think it would be pretty silly of Sailor Moon to have gotten weaker as Sailor Cosmos. Also, whenever Sailor Moon became Neo Queen Serenity, didn't she lose the ability to transform into a Sailor Soldier? So that would make it impossible for her to be Sailor Cosmos. Correct me if I'm wrong about that.

Correct me if I'm wrong about that. She did lose the ability to transform into Sailor Moon, but I don't think all of her powers were completely taken away from her. And it doesn't mean that she couldn't regain the powers in the future. Also, Sailor Cosmos IS a future incarnation of Sailor Moon... in the same way that Sailor Moon is a future incarnation of Princess Serenity. They are from different times, but they are still the same person

Okay. The future-reincarnation deal definitely makes the most sense. Princess Serenity didn't seem to have much power either, right? But then she was reincarnated and became a powerful senshi. So I guess it could work both ways and a future incarnation could be less powerful. And if Neo Queen Serenity also lost some of her powers then I guess that shows that Sailormoon's power fluctuates throughout time..
So I'm convinced now. ^_^ But why did I not get this before??
