1. How did you start/discover graphics designing? I actually don't consider myself that much of a graphic designer as I do a photomanipulator. XD; I love doing graphic layouts using text and photos; I'm actually a text art nut but it's difficult to do offline, so when my sister began using Photoshop at work I cajoled her to getting me a copy and teaching me the basics. XD The rest I've learned by myself though.
2. How long have you been designing? I've been doing this offline since high school, and online only around 3rd year college (2004-2005) in earnest.
3. When it comes to brushes, (light) textures, etc.., how frequently do you use them when designing? I LOVE light textures most of all so I use them frequently! XD I hardly do an icon without at least one texture as well (as either foreground or background). I use brushes gradients less frequently but more often than brushes. I also love using text a lot so I've challenged myself to join icontests (icon-making contests) where "hush" or text-less icons are required entries.
4. Do you have any preference as to what type of graphic you like to make (avatars, signatures, etc...)? Right now I'm still obsessed with Sailor Uranus so mostly her. XD Icons/avatars of Sailormoon characters are a close second. I used to do cosplay icons of myself as well but lately have found no need for them.
5. What is your first priority when designing? Concept for emotion. That's where I determine the effects (graphics, font, text, brushes, etc.) I need to use to get the emotional affect I want. I want people to feel exactly what I want to come up with.
6. Do you have any effects that you use a lot? Light textures. Enough said. XD;;;
7. Do you have any favuorite fonts, if so list a few of them? Helvetica, Verdana and Trebuchet MS are very good for graphic design in general so I tend to use those a lot. I also love using script calligraphy fonts, especially ADS Kirneberg ... or at least I think that's what the script is called. XD; I also love using "handwriting" fonts.
8. Is there anything that annoys you about designing/designing for people? I'd appreciate feedback. There are many icons that I can't say I love or like completely because I find so many flaws, but because I've got bad eyesight and I've worked with them too long I need a fresh pair of eyes to look at them objectively. Also, there are hardly any resources for graphics larger than avatars/icons. @_@
9. Anything else you want to add? I hope I can do larger graphics like banners, headers and signatures soon! I was able to do some wallpapers but they came out fugly, and I'd love to remedy that. Also, I really would love to know more about HTML and CSS coding, as I know only the barest basics; unfortunately the layouts I want to create are CSS-dependent. T~T
