^ Are you serious? Does that mean that you never bought the ticket, already scared of planes, or that you bought the ticket even though you had a phobia.

Ekke Erm well I hope you still get to see your husband. I again should still be doing these questions for English but they're sooo abstract they just totally make me unhappy and rambling is not allowed. 1. What is art? 2. Can art (or a piece of art) ever be dangerous, having a negative impact on behavior? Morals? Perception of others or oneself? 3. Should arts ever be censored? When? When?

Can art (or a piece of art) ever be dangerous, having a negative impact on behavior? Morals? Perception of others or oneself? 3. Should arts ever be censored? When? When?I should be studying for an art quiz tomorrow that I just learned about today which involves a ton of reading and countless artworks along with their artists. Actually, it's just an individual comparison for three pairs of artwork, but that's out of over two dozen pieces of art. Let's see if I can can answer those questions, Lemonachi... 1. Art is a reaction to an emotion, event, social dynamic, setting, or other external or internal stimuli encountered by the artist. The work itself is the artist's perception. 2. Art can inflame emotions and disturb the social standard either through its process or subject. A piece can become a representation of a movement or thought that endangers the status quo, whether negatively or not. 3. Censorship is determined by the society that the artwork is created under. For example, a portrait of Muhammad would be restricted in a predominately Muslim culture while accepted in a society that does not view it as improper. Censoring art might prevent social conflict, but also serves to stunt society's overall maturation. I mastered the good looking non answers in high school.

My friend and I took the chance, and answered these questions together: 1. Well, anything can be classified as art these days if you say it is. The Art of Ballet. The Art of Sculpting Naked People. The Art of Judo. The Art of Music. The Art of Paper Folding. Go ask my maths teacher, he'd even say that maths was an art! Flippin' heck! Go think about it! 2. Yes, yes I suppose if was long, made from steel, and had lots of sharp spikey things coming out of it, and you're supposed to play the "Oh!-I-Know!-Let's-Swing-This-Fun-Piece-Of-Art-Around-And-See-Whose-Hands-Get-Cut-Off-First" game with it. And what if it's a painting of Reiko the Zombie Shop having her innards ripped out my some psychopath!? I'm sure that might have a negative impact. It might even just awaken the psychopath within you...! And there are plenty of morals! The moral to the painting of the guy screaming is 'Don't be a pansy when you see the water!' And, keh, perceptions of self!? The Mona Lisa is apparently Leonardo da Vinci is cross-dressing mode! See what that has to do with perception! 3. Uh, yeah, if they're full up-front NUDE pictures perhaps! But does anyone do that? Noooooo, they leave it as it is, so that tourists can pay an abominal fee to go oggle at someone's local assets. But the Art of Music is forever being censored when people sing the words f*** or c*** or etc! Now, how is that fair?? Yeah, me and my friend had a good time doing that. ;D We'll leave it up to you to think who answered what parts.

Oh oh wow thanks guys I already finished mine though I didn't expect anyone would answer it but yeah it's pretty cool the differences in what we, ourselves, think about those questions. Here are mine. 1.A standard dictionary such as Merriam-Webster defines art as a skill acquired through experience or observations. I agree with the dictionary definition to an extent but I also consider it as form of human expression of imagination and creativity in many different forms such as paintings, sculptures, music, dance, photography, and sometimes even graffiti, plus countless other forms. Furthermore art also depends on the person interpreting it and their perception. For example those that enjoy classical art (displayed in Clark Art Institute) might not consider the abstract modern art (such as at Mass MOCA) actual art. 2.Yes art can be dangerous as to have a negative impact sometimes, such as when dealing with sensitive topics. Such as when movies, cartoons, or other things touch upon religion. Although the original creator of the art did not intend for the art to be offensive, others could take offense. This then causes negative feelings between both sides and sometimes it may even escalate to violence. In a similar way art can also affect moral especially during hardships such as war. The propaganda produced during wars encourages and inspires most of the time but the slanderous artwork of George W. Bush lowers the morale of the people supporting the president. On the other hand artwork can also provide a new perspective that some people have not yet considered such as Picasso’s abstract paintings with bold and abstract shapes representing common scenes. This shows the reader a new perspective of the ordinary scene, but some people may take offense to the abstract depiction and strongly protest to it even being called “art”? 3.For the most part art should be allowed in its raw form because by censoring the art, it takes away from the artist’s original message that he or she wants to convey. In the case of writing, there are lists of banned books that have been banned because they feature sensitive material such as coarse language or graphic situations. It must also be considered that many of the novels are considered “classics” and the authors have conveyed deep meanings through their writing making the “banned material” seem insignificant. On the other hand age should also be taken into factor since very young children should not yet be exposed to the coarse language especially if they cannot comprehend the deeper meaning behind the artists’ main purpose. In general I think that art should not be censored but a person should be allowed to decide for him or herself whether to view the art in its raw form or censored. There is no set guideline for what art should or shouldn’t be censored; it must also be looked on a case by case consideration. Eh my last sentence sort of contradicts but that is ok! ;D

*hugs* i understand, i have phobias, its hard for someone who has't felt the same thing to understand something and empathy does't seem that common amongst people but he can't be perfect, there must be things that bother him - but i guess trying to get him to relate its no different may not be a good thing to do if he's angry. um, this may sound stupid... if you're married, how come you live so far apart?

Well, I should be memorising some crappy oral presentation lines for English, and studying for my upcoming exams. But I've been doing that all day, so I'm taking time out.

I have to study about computers! I cannot believe I have to explain on a exam how to make a new folder! Even my 4-year old brother knows that!
