I was reading some comments about Chibiusa during an episode on Youtube and for the sake of interest, I checked out some anti-chibimoon sites. The only problems about these pages is they have stupid reasons for not liking certain characters.
For Example (for Chibiusa/Chibmoon): 1) She has pink hair..nuff said. 2) Her red eyes clash with her pink hair 3 She gives people nightmares. 4)She causes riots at comic conventions.
Those aren't really legit reasons for disliking character. I mean how about "I don't like a certain character because he/she has little character development" or "I don't like he/she because she lacks any personality that makes his/her character worth watching"
I mean please, if you're going to have a beef with a character, please have a rational reason for it.

I agree.
Chibiusa has pink hair and red eyes. So what? That was the way she was drawn as by the artists and animators. Personally I like pink and red almost as much as I like blue.
I can sort of understand where they are going with number three. She is pink and, some might say, annoying, but still its nothing to dislike a character about.
The last one I don't understand. Maybe because I have never gone to a comic convention. Even so I wouldn't see why Chibiusa would cause riots.

I've heard a lot of those reasons and other stupid reasons. Not just for hating Rini, but other poor reasons for hating the other Senshi. I personally dislike one Sailor Scout a bunch, but I have some legit reasons for disliking her, as opposed to hating for stupid reason.
However, I don't understand how someone can say Rini gives them nightmares. That right there is the stupidest reason I'ver heard someone give for hating or disliking Rini.

For disliking villains: -He/She is arrogant.(hello, even their favourite villains are arrogant..arrogance is a trait ANY villain would have) -He/she is mean. (villains are not SUPPOSED to be nice) -He/she told a lie.(as if the villains they DO worship and love has never told a lie before).
But basically, I just ignore people who are that narrow/closedminded in their thinking.

I hate it when people dislike Taiki 'cause her forehead is large, of all the stupid, shallow reasons -_- .
All names shall be removed to protect the guilty, but the worst reason I've ever had for disliking a chara is because of a certain pedophile who kept trying to turn her into a sexual object in spite of her being a child. Whenever anyone pointed out that she was a child, he would just say that he didn't see her as being a child. Is it stupid to start to dislike/feel disgusted by a chara 'cause pedophile fans like that ruin her for you?

Its true. There are people who seem to dislike characters for minor things such as their appearance. They have a few flaws in their appearance. So what? In real life a person can find flaws in the best looking of people if they look close enough.
As for the second part I never liked thinking about the characters as sex objects. Believe me I've seen some things. *shudder* Anyway, sure some animators showed what they call "fan service" but in my opinion they shouldn't be seen that way.
Of course someone may see it differently.

One of the most silly things a fan said about the anime series: "I don't like Usagi because she had too much screen time!"
......its not like they named the anime Sailor Moon for the heck of it.

Someone actually said that?
That is a dumb reason.

Someone actually said that? That is a dumb reason. Agreed. That's got to be one of dumbest ones I've heard.

Another stupid reason (someone hates Mercury/Ami) "She's not like me"
...well duh! you can relate to character, but they are created to develop the plot.

Not liking a character just because that person doesn't relate to him or her is a bit much. There are other characters in the show. Even if a person doesn't find any characters they relate to there may still be something they find that brings them to a connection. If they can't find that connection they can just turn to another show.

Another rather stupid reason: He/she is overrated. I mean, it is not as if the FICTIONAL characters are aware of the fans he/she has..and even so, it's not the characters' fault. As I said, the character isn't aware of how the author is portraying him/her.

I'd say it is a plausibly bad reason to not like the character. Personally I don't think any of the characters are that overrated at least with the other characters on the show. Of course this might just be me looking in. As for people outside the show, the fans who watch, I've been getting the opposite. It feels like there are some people out there who underestimate many of the characters. That might just be me.
The character being aware of how the author is portraying them. That would make an interesting fan fiction idea.

Sometimes it's hard to say why you like a character, and I guess it could be true to say why you dislike a character.. I mean even if it was the fact the character doesn't look good, it's still a valid reason for them, isn't it? Similarly people may prefer characters more because if they look cute or whatever. Whoever is annoying to one person, may not be annoying to the other. Like I personally really like Usagi and don't find her anoying at all, whereas others will think she is (and I don't see why)
It's all opinionated, really.

I think a chara's appearance is a silly/shallow reason to like or dislike them, though. I mean, yes, there are charas who are cuter or prettier than others, and that may well have some influence on one's perceptions of the chara, but if that's the only thing someone considers important, I feel really sorry for that person.
Actually, I've noticed perception of attractiveness is affected by the chara's personality. Oftentimes I can see someone and think she's not that good-looking, until I get to know and like her personality. Then I think she's really beautiful. (Yes, I went through exactly that with Taiki ^^; !) Contrarilywise, sometimes I'll think someone is really cute or pretty until I find I don't care for her personality, then it's like, "Eeeh, not so much."
