Moved to the Graphics section since it seems to be the most appropriate. No harm done, though. And I chortle at these motivational posters.

The 1st two were funny, and I'm going to be brutally honest about the third one: It's nothing but more whining about DIC's cuts, and I really wish people would stop already. What fun is it to focus on DIC's cuts when you can overlook them and enjoy the show?

The 1st two were funny, and I'm going to be brutally honest about the third one: It's nothing but more whining about DIC's cuts, and I really wish people would stop already. What fun is it to focus on DIC's cuts when you can overlook them and enjoy the show? Would you all be happier if ToonMakers had aquired the rights to Sailor Moon instead of DIC? Actually, I know it's shocking but I love the DIC dub. ;D It was the first version of SM that I was ever exposed to, and I watched it throughout most of my childhood religiously (when it was on air ). Probably because I associate the Dic voices with the security of my childhood, I find I could never grow to dislike it. There's something about those first two seasons dubbed that gives me a calming effect. Odd I know. And what really surprised me was that I found that even after I bought ADV's boxsets with the original uncut versions, I still enjoyed the censored DIC version of those two seasons the best. I also seem to associate Terri's voice and think of Usagi as "Serena" when I see images or clips from those first seasons, even if it's in Japanese. Or rather, the dub lines will spring up into my head while I watch the original at times (and honestly, there are a few lines in the dub that I prefer to the original). Really, you almost have to view DIC's version as a separate self contained show in itself. Well, that's how it's categorized in my brain anyway. In all honesty, when I'm watching DIC's SM, I usually don't think about what's been cutout, because it's cemented into my mind by memory the way it is, with the voices and all. Likewise, when I watch those same episodes in their original format, it's like a different show. ; I suppose because to me, the DIC version is the "original", and the original followed it, because how the order in which I was exposed to it. Like a duckling or something. lol But I could see how from just the poster it would look like I really do dislike DIC. And yeah, I like to make fun of DIC, and some of their more odd/random cuts, but it's done out of amusement rather than anger or to really complain about it. I think of DIC SM as the eccentric relative of SM. ;D And sorry I ended up being so long winded and turning this into a long essay type of post. But the existence of my love of those episodes in all their cut and censored glory was something that I was wondering about for some time. This was just a good excuse to finally get it down in writing instead of just in my head. ;D (and no, I am so very glad toonmakers did not win the rights. lol)

That's really nice I couldn't come up with lines like that >_<;; you are good at it!! lol As far as the DiC dub... it may be the first we watched and it may not be THAT awful, but you gotta admit it's pretty dorky sometimes. I for one appreciate people defending it if someone is ACTUALLY bashing it like bigtime... but people get overly sensitive whenever you make a little joke V_V I think we should be able to poke a little fun about it without getting the "oh I hate people whining about the dub and it was the first we watched and blah blah blah you should be more open blah blah blah leave the dub alone blah blah" come on, we can poke fun every once in awhile I mean if that's all a person does is make jokes about it then it gets kind of old, but if you just hear the jokes a lot and someone who hardly ever tells one makes a random one... no need to jump on their case. (this isn't all just about this thread in particular... I am just getting reeeally sick of the people saying that we should leave the dub alone and getting onto the people that are supposedly 'bashing' it when all they're doing is making a little joke, that annoys me even more than the people that won't stop making the jokes...) But back to the matter at hand... I think you should make more hehehe. But I am so not trying I will fail miserably lol I am not good with lines...

lol like I said in my other post, i really see the dub as a separate show. I mean, so many basic things are changed, and if I try to fit it together with the original then I would get angry at all the cuts DIC made. But because I enjoy it like I would enjoy a diff show the cuts don't bother me as much. And I love the moon stick one.
