I didn't like the live-action movie much. Yeah, it stayed close to the manga as it could, but it seemed to lack emotion during important parts of the movie. Also, there's no Misato-chan in the movies! Misato is too adorable to leave out ><
I'm not really planning on seeing the second movie anytime soon.

yeah, I just got my shoujo beat a few days ago, and it had it's last nana chapter...made me sad. I despise takumi. Despise. *twitches*....and I hadn't gotten as far as the pregnancy either....when does that happen? 0.o (haha, it seemed like it was kinda bound to, but for some reason, I always thought it'd be nana o.........or is it?)

Its hatchi, that gets pregnant. Junko convinces her it would be better to leave Nobu and be with Takumi because otherwise she would be poor and it would be too hard for the baby. Really I dunno there are times when you almost want to like Takumi but then he goes and acts like and sob again. SeraFirefly the recast of Hachi and Ren helps a lot in the second movie. still no Misotochan though, even though she has a much more important role in the last half of the story.

@ pyxee: I disagree with you on the recasting of Ren and Hachi, Hachi in particular. Ichikawa Yui was even more wooden than Nakashima Mika, who I am sorry to say makes a great singer but a less-than-stellar actress especially for the titular role of Nana. If you'll notice, the 2nd movie is really in shambles. Honestly, I think Miyazaki Aoi was the raison d'etre of the NANA movie franchise - though everyone came to see Mika (well, at least I admit I did ), it was Aoi's acting that basically buoyed the entire production. I mean, a LOT of girls I know want to slap Hachi and girls like her (I would and I already have, too!) but Miyazaki Aoi made her character a lot more sympathetic and understandable. I also loved the old Ren better, for the sole purpose that although the Ren of the 2nd movie looks much more like the Ren of the first, the Ren of the first movie, Matsuda Ryuuhei, has more acting chops and it shows in his acting. The Ren of the 2nd movie is so indistinct that I only remember how bad he was alongside Mika's Nana - I don't even remember his name! ^_^000 I must admit poor Mika got shafted through the entire thing, to be honest - she may be the one of the main and titular characters but she gets drowned out by better actors all around. v^_^0 @ v-chan: OH YES. Finally someone who despises Takumi too! \^0^/ Argh he's such a sometimes.

I have say some of what I said before was based on, reviews of the movie, I had not been able to see more than a few parts of the second movie, and I leaned too much on the reviews, I agree with a lot of what you said after watching more of the second movie. And I agree totally about Mika she is an amazing singer but not a good actress, though she does have a good moment now and then. By the way I am not a Takumi fan, It's just that I thought there were time when he looked like he was trying to make good but then never does.
