Owww, both the anime and the manga are so beautiful, I love them. I've seen the anime when i was little, and I remembered it only recently....I already found a place where I can download it, to see it again. BUt I've searched in vain to find a place where I can download the entire wonderful manga by Riyoko ikeda!! Someone, please, can help me? I only have the first seven chapters.... YEP!! Ive just find out that Betty Ann already made a topic, but it was a long time ago.XD I hope nobody gets angry because I double posted a discussion...XD

Don't worry, it happens all the time. I've never seen this series. Is this the one that Shoujo Kakumei Utena was influenced by?

@ numbmelody: Yes, that's it. Someone finally opened a BeruBara thread!!! Yaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!! \^0^/ The most updated scanlation site for the manga would have to be www.lililicious.net. They've done some Sailormoon and Utena doujinshi too. I wanna find the Takarazuka videos for this. T^T And I miss SugarxSpice's uber-awesome cosplay of the series. <goes to corner of woe>

Sigh!! Too bad this wonderful, wonderful story hasn't a huge fandom like the SM one!! oh I'm so happy there is another fan!! XDD haruka173, don't you think our dearest Oscar Francoise de Jarjayes is gorgeous? I so wanted to be like her XD have you read also other manga by Riyoko Ikeda?

@ ladylilith: Indeed, I still think Lady Oscar de Jarjeyes is gorgeous beyond compare. *_* I also think I've read other manga by Ryoko Ikeda, but since I've been reading a ton of 1970s-1980s manga lately where mangaka names haven't been romanized properly, I'm not sure. 6^_^000 Oh! Have you seen the Takarazuka Revue version of BeruBara? I've heard nothing but praise for it. I haven't seen any videos of it yet though. T^T

I haven't seen anything too, I've only seen some pictures of it, and read some reviws: they didn't agree anyway, one said it's good, one said it's not Well, some of the other manga of her are "Dear brother" or "Claudine". I've read the second, and it's so sad (amazing tough..)

I've read Claudine too! I've saved it on my hard drive at home actually. Wait, is Bride of Deimos also by Ikeda- sama? We had a debate about that in the EGL LJ community. v^_^0 It is so frustrating, though, that so much of the shoujo ai manga in the 1970s, with the exception of BeruBara, had very tragic endings. T^T

Nope, I've researched for it, and I've found out that "Bride of Deimos"was drawn by Yuuho Ashibe, and it was written by Etsuko Ikeda. Also BeruBara has a very tragic ending!! Sigh...after the death of Andrè....the death of...of... And by the way: I've just bought "Elisabeth" by our dearest XDD

I hate you. You have Elisabeth. T^T
(stricken and re-coloured for possible spoiler)
Does Oscar die first? I know Marie Antoinette dies (she has to, eventually ^_^0). But I thought Oscar had a bit of a happier ending compared to what befell other "lesbian"/"bisexual" heroines in 1970s/1980s shoujo ai manga.

YepXD I was lucky to find it XD Spoiler: No, she actually dies in a very sad way. After the death of Andrè, she joines the revolutionary forces, and dies during the assault at the Basteille.
